Who You Are
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to support our Legal Team in preparing, reviewing, and managing vendor contracts for a major upcoming marketing event. This is a fantastic opportunity for a law student or recent graduate eager to gain hands-on experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and general corporate law within a fast-paced environment. Please note that you will be required to accommodate the schedules of cross-functional teams and external stakeholders involved in the event. Our teams are based across different time zone include IST, EST, PST and CDT.
What You'll Be Doing
Contract Drafting and Review:
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating vendor agreements, including service contracts, supplier agreements, sponsorship agreements, speaker agreements and confidentiality agreements.
Ensure contracts align with the company's legal and business requirements.
Research and Compliance:
Conduct legal research and stay current on relevant regulations, contract laws, and industry standards affecting vendor relationships and event management.
Help ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
Assist the legal team and marketing team with reviewing Speaker presentations for compliance with applicable law, including but not limited FTC's guidelines.
Assist the Legal team in identifying, investigating, and resolving marketing infractions, including reviewing promotional content compliance related risks
Contract Negotiation Support:
Take part in vendor communication, under supervision, to align agreement terms with legal and business requirements.
Due Diligence and Documentation:
Collect and organise relevant documentation from potential vendors.
Verify vendor credentials, certifications, and insurance to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risk.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain and update contract management systems, ensuring all critical deadlines and milestones are tracked.
Prepare regular status reports on vendor contract progress for the legal and event management teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as Procurement, Finance, and Event Management teams to ensure contracts accurately reflect business requirements and mitigate legal risks.
Participate in internal meetings and discussions to align legal input with the broader objectives of the marketing event.
What You'll Bring
Currently pursuing law degree from an accredited law school.
Strong academic record and genuine interest in corporate, contract, or commercial law.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts in an understandable manner.
Strong analytical and organisational skills, including the ability to conduct thorough research and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in contract drafting and review.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
Proficiency in google docs and other similar tools.
A safe and secure computer system and fast internet connection.
