Basicqualifications

• BA degree in a law-related field
• 2+ years of experience in the contract field, contracts administration or legal operations
• Experience with legal analytics and legal terminology
• Ability to identify legal concepts and translate them into data patterns
• Ability to interpret legal language and requirements to communicate in an understandable fashion with non-legal colleagues
• Understanding of and interest in data science and machine learning
• Attention to detail and proofreading skills
• Be the primary point of contact to internal stakeholders to answer legal domain questions
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Energy, experience, and motivation to work across global & functional boundaries

PreferredQualifications

• Experience of working with engineering and product teams as a domain expert
• Familiarity with legal technology, including contract systems, etc., familiarity with common contracts used for procuring products and services, prior experience with an in-house legal department, prior work at a technology-focused company preferred
• Experience working in an agile work environment (Jira, Confluence)
• Must Have
• Experience working in a legal-tech hybrid role such as eDiscovery or contract analytics

Responsibilities:

• Work together with the ML team to perform research, testing and evaluation of existing and emerging machine learning methods and technologies that could be effectively applied to contractual/legal data
• Construct legal guidelines in order to maintain and extend current ground truth
• Be familiar or learn NLP concepts such as Named Entity Recognition, POS tagging, Parsing, Sentiment Analysis, Embeddings, etc.
• Develop an understanding of the technologies and methods within DocuSign product development. An understanding of the ML lifecycle will be essential
• Work in tandem with assistive annotation algorithms that represent the current state of our ML product line
• Understand, assist and improve the existing training data maintenance and enrichment process
