Job Description

General OverviewAssist in coordinating all legal matters related with Program and Members Experience, South Asia Philanthropy, Global People & Talent, Financial Services. Coordinate all other compliance pertaining to various administrative statutory guidelines applicable to RI South Asia Office. Provide support to outside legal counsels and other parties involved in court cases and election complaints. Attend court whenever required.

Education

Bachelor's degree in law is essential (either 5-years integrated or B.com (H) + 3 years law).

Experience with NGOs, international donors, or cross-border legal matters (based on your mention of WHQ and international offices preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

Strong interpersonal skills essential.

Strong drafting skills essential.

Language and oration skills in English and Hindi essential. Skills in other Indian languages and/ or Asian cross-cultural experience preferred.

Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft and database software essential.

Exceptional organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and meet tight timelines.

High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and efficacy.

Prompt actions & response, as an additional attribute.

Specific Duties

Coordinate all aspects of legal cases involving Rotary International South Asia Office

Reviews, analyzes and processes legal disputes pertaining to Rotary International South Asia Office, including, but not limited to:

Assist in carrying out preliminary research to shortlist and recommend suitable legal firms.

Vetting of replies to the notices served on or by Rotary.

Vetting of, filing to be made to the competent judicial/ quasi-judicial authorities, various documents including writs, suits, petitions, plaints, rejoinder etc.

Vetting of miscellaneous applications/ Affidavits etc.

Advising/ opining on matters of legal strategy.

Drafting/ vetting of various MOUs, agreements, contracts etc.

Providing legal opinions and (time-to-time) updations on legal subjects, policies, alignment with laws including but not limited to corporate tax and other matters

To perform such other duties of legal nature that may be assigned by Rotary from time to time.

Track legal hearing dates and outcomes.

Promptly and accurately report and update status of cases for reference of International Office Manager, Manager, Legal & Stewardship and World Headquarters.

Liaise with outside legal counsel and obtain counsel on legal issues.

Assist International Officer Manager in preparation of special reports/assignments on legal issues.

Attend court hearings whenever required.

Research and reply to any legal queries raised by WHQ.

Liaise with outside legal counsel in all cases where RISAO (or their authorized representatives) either initiate legal action or defend a lawsuit.

Acquire, maintain and continuously update policies of regulatory bodies under various legislations which are applicable to Rotary International South Asia Office

Coordinate various compliances pertaining to various statutory guidelines applicable on Rotary International South Asia Office

Legal due diligence and legal audits background preferred

Regulatory risk assessment & Corporate governance

Perform other duties or special projects as assigned, not included above.

Prior Experience

Minimum 5 of litigation experience, along with background of corporate knowledge and related job experience required.

Pay: ?50,000.00 - ?75,000.00 per month
