About the Role:

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Legal to join our dynamic Collections team in Bangalore. This role is crucial for supporting our strategic shift towards aggressive legal steps, including litigation, to enhance recovery rates. The primary focus will be Collections related legal activities including but not limited to Permanent Lok Adalat activities, requiring full-time engagement and involvement and regular court appearances.

Key

Responsibilities:

Permanent Lok Adalat Activities:

Manage and coordinate all activities related to Permanent Lok Adalat cases, including preparation and retrieval of documents, filing applications, submitting evidence, attending multiple court dates, explaining statements of accounts and loan agreements to the court and most importantly expediting the cases.

Litigation Support:

Assist in initiating and pursuing legal actions, beyond just sending notices, to increase recovery for the collections business. This includes preparing and filing litigations on behalf of lenders (e.g., SMFG, Admin Finance and others) with their consent.

Court Appearances:

Represent Lender/Paytm in court, ensuring all necessary documents and affidavits are filed accurately and on time.

Coordination:

Collaborate effectively with external vendors who manage legal notices and other legal processes.

Document Management:

Take printouts, organize documents, and ensure proper record-keeping for all legal activities.

Adaptability:

Be prepared to support other legal activities beyond Permanent Lok Adalat as business needs evolve.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.) degree is mandatory
.

Experience

7+ years of minimum experience in a corporate in legal role, preferably within the banking or NBFC sector. Experience in practicing law is acceptable, but corporate experience is preferred due to cultural and procedural differences.

Legal

Acumen:

Strong basic legal acumen and knowledge are required.

Language

Fluency in the local Bangalore language is a significant advantage.
