Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Contract Management:

Draft, review, negotiate, and manage all construction contracts (client, vendor, subcontractor), ensuring legal soundness.

Compliance & Regulation:

Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal construction laws, building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.

Risk Management:

Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, offering cost-effective solutions.

Dispute Resolution:

Handle disputes, claims (damage, injury), arbitration, mediation, and litigation, often managing external lawyers.

Legal Advice & Training:

Provide commercially sound advice to management on legal matters, risks, and strategic decisions, plus train staff on compliance.

Stakeholder Liaison:

Liaise with civil authorities (planning, permits), external counsel, clients, and visit sites.

Documentation:

Prepare legal documents, opinions, and briefings.
Job Focus Areas

Construction Law:

Deep understanding of contract law, property law, zoning, licensing, liens, liability, and insurance specific to construction.

Project Lifecycle:

Offer guidance from tender/procurement through execution to close-out.

Commercial Acumen:

Balance legal protection with business goals, providing practical, cost-effective advice.

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?45,000.00 per month
