to support a U.S.-based attorney and legal team. The Paralegal will assist with case preparation, legal research, client communication, and document management for state and federal matters. This is a remote position based in India, providing direct support to U.S. clients and attorneys across various time zones.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management & Onboarding
Support onboarding of new legal clients by collecting required information, verifying documentation, and setting up client files.
Prepare client engagement letters, agreements, and correspondence for attorney review and signature.
Maintain ongoing communication with clients to gather details, follow up on missing information, and provide status updates under attorney supervision.
Legal Research & Case Preparation
Conduct thorough legal research on U.S. federal and state laws, case law, statutes, and regulatory requirements.
Summarize findings and prepare concise memos, reports, or briefs for attorney review.
Draft and format legal documents, pleadings, motions, contracts, or discovery responses.
Assist with preparing exhibits, organizing case files, and managing document repositories.
Administrative & Filing Support
Prepare and file legal documents electronically with courts, agencies, or other relevant bodies as directed.
Track case deadlines, maintain calendars, and ensure timely submission of filings and responses.
Organize, maintain, and update legal databases and document management systems.
Attorney & Team Support
Coordinate with the U.S. attorney on case strategy and progress updates.
Support communication and scheduling between attorney and clients.
Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and in compliance with U.S. data protection requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in
Law, Legal Studies, or related field
(LL.B. or equivalent preferred).
Minimum
2+ years of experience
as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Research Associate (U.S. or international law firm experience preferred).
Strong understanding of
U.S. legal terminology, court systems, and document formats
.
Excellent research and writing skills using resources such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, and government databases.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and online filing systems.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a remote environment.
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication in English.
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting U.S. immigration, corporate, employment, healthcare, or litigation law.
Familiarity with U.S. federal and state courts, and e-filing procedures (e.g., PACER, ECF).
Knowledge of client onboarding, billing, and CRM platforms.
Work Hours
Must be flexible to work U.S. business hours or overlap for meetings and client communication.
