To teach, mentor, and guide undergraduate and/or postgraduate nursing students in the area of Community Health Nursing, contribute to curriculum development, conduct research, and actively participate in extension/community outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning
Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, practicals, and clinical demonstrations in Community Health Nursing.
Supervise students during clinical postings, field visits, and community health programs.
Guide students in seminars, assignments, case studies, and project work.
Conduct tutorials and remedial classes to support student learning.
Develop and update lesson plans, teaching aids, and learning materials.
Research & Academic Development
Undertake research and publish in relevant journals.
Guide undergraduate and postgraduate research projects/dissertations.
Participate in curriculum development and review activities.
Keep updated with current trends and practices in Community Health Nursing.
Student Support & Mentorship
Provide academic and career guidance to students.
Counsel students on personal, social, and professional issues related to the nursing profession.
Community Engagement
Organize and participate in health awareness programs, camps, and outreach activities in rural and urban communities.
Collaborate with public health organizations and local health authorities.
Administrative & Institutional Responsibilities
Participate in departmental and institutional meetings, committees, and quality assurance activities.
Assist in accreditation, inspection, and documentation processes.
Maintain student records, attendance, and assessment reports.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department/Principal.
Qualifications & Requirements:
M.Sc. Nursing in Community Health Nursing (essential).
Registration with the State Nursing Council.
Teaching experience in nursing college preferred (fresh postgraduates may also be considered).
Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
Ability to integrate theory with practice in community health settings.
