Job Summary:
The Lecturer in Anesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology is responsible for teaching, training, and mentoring undergraduate students in anesthesia and OT technology courses. The role involves academic instruction, clinical supervision, curriculum development, assessment, research support, and contributing to overall departmental growth in line with institutional objectives.
Key Responsibilities:Academic Responsibilities:
Deliver theory and practical classes as per curriculum and academic schedule.
Prepare lesson plans, study materials, presentations, and learning modules.
Conduct internal assessments, examinations, viva, and evaluations.
Guide students in seminars, assignments, project work, and clinical case discussions.
Ensure curriculum alignment with university and regulatory guidelines.
Clinical & Laboratory Responsibilities:
Demonstrate and supervise students in OT, anesthesia skills labs, and clinical postings.
Monitor performance, safety, and discipline during clinical activities.
Coordinate with hospital teams to facilitate clinical learning and exposure.
Administrative & Coordination Responsibilities:
Maintain academic records, attendance, and student performance reports.
Participate in department meetings, academic planning, and institutional events.
Support accreditation, inspection, documentation, and compliance processes.
Research & Professional Development:
Encourage student participation in research and academic activities.
Stay updated on advances in anesthesia, surgical technology, and medical standards.
Attend workshops, conferences, and faculty development programs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
Bachelor's / Master's degree in Anesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology / Allied Health Sciences
Strong knowledge of anesthesia procedures, OT instrumentation, aseptic methods, and clinical practices
Good communication, teaching, and presentation skills
Preferred:
Minimum 1-2 years teaching or clinical experience
Experience in operation theatre / anesthesia units in a healthcare setting
Familiarity with NABH / academic accreditation systems
