Purpose of the role

The Learning Experience Designer refines Architect blueprints into detailed, developer-ready designs and ensures solutions are instructionally sound, consistent, and learner-friendly. This role bridges Architects and Content Developers: working with SMEs to simplify complex content, creating detailed storyboards and prototypes, and providing high-quality inputs for development. The Designer also performs QA on deliverables and contributes to reusable templates, playbooks, and guidance that raise design maturity across the enterprise.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Translate Architect blueprints into detailed instructional designs, including storyboards, prototypes, and instructional flows that are ready for development. Partner with SMEs and stakeholders to simplify complex content and ensure learning objectives and assessments are clear and measurable. Apply enterprise frameworks, templates, and accessibility standards to ensure solutions are scalable, consistent, and learner-friendly. Perform QA of Architect, Developer, and vendor deliverables to ensure compliance with design standards and learning principles. Support overflow or unassigned design requests (e.g., SharePoint layouts, visual/graphic learning assets, interactive PDFs). Own micro-UX elements of learning design: layout, readability, accessibility, page/module flow, and usability inside learning solutions. Provide input to the Learning Solutions Consultant on systemic issues, recurring design gaps, or needed refinements to frameworks and standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education - Full time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory- Note: This is the minimum education criteria which cannot be altered) 5-7 years of experience in instructional design or learning experience design. Very strong communication skills with ability to simplify complex topics into usable learner journeys. Experience and high competence in working with and communicating with SMEs and stakeholders to clarify objectives, simplify content, and manage design timelines/updates. Proven ability to create detailed learning designs (storyboards, prototypes, flow diagrams) for diverse modalities (eLearning, blended, instructor-led, digital). Strong knowledge of instructional design frameworks, learning theory, and adult learning principles. Experience applying accessibility and inclusion standards in learning design. Proficiency with common design tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Adobe Suite, Articulate Rise/Storyline for prototyping). Detail orientation and ability to quality check designs against standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience designing for enterprise-scale audiences across geographies and functions. Familiarity with learning platforms (LMS, LXP, portals) and how design decisions influence learner navigation. Exposure to UX design principles, including usability and information architecture. Experience designing digital experiences (e.g., SharePoint layouts, wireframes, portals) a plus, but not required. Graphic or visual design background (e.g., page layout, infographics, visual storytelling). * Prior experience in Shared Services, Learning Operations, or working with distributed global teams.
