"Improve workforce performance and productivity, boosts business agility, increases revenue and reduces costs The Instructional Design Manager implements the overall instructional design of learning products developed in the CDC ensuring that projects successfully evolve from sponsor/stakeholders expectations through development of assets and effective and efficient deployment of the asset(s The Instructional Design Manager has the primary purpose of managing all stages of capability enabler architecture, design, build and test for CDC products. The Instructional Design Manager manages multiple projects at a time and supervises 6 to 20 professionals. The Instructional Design Manager establishes cross-project procedures and policies, and provides guidance and leadership to Instructional Design team members for any learning design obstacles encountered regardless of complexity. Deliver instructional information for an audience based on learning activities approaches to help an organization achieve their learning goals."
What are we looking for? "Qualifications: Education: o Bachelors degree in Instructional Design, Cognitive Psychology, English, Technical Writing, Communications, related field or equivalent experience. Specialist - Masters degree (preferred) in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, or Adult Education. Work Experience: o 6+ years experience in developing performance enablement solutions OR experience managing programs, projects, and teams within training/ learning environment. Work Requirements: o Potential to travel less than 10% of time. o In-depth functional/technical knowledge and expertise, particularly related to capability and enablement products o Strong project management skills o Deep understanding of methodology and product development processes for the product lifecycle o Well developed risk analysis and mitigation skills o Ability to lead a distributed team with diverse competencies, skills, and abilities o Proactive issue/conflict identification and resolution o Strong problem solving, analysis, and design skills o Strong knowledge and practical experience with the following applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project) "
Roles and Responsibilities: "oo Planning/Analysis/Design Phase: o Design products, collaborate on solution options/tradeoffs, estimate costs, create approach and timeline, create resource plan, identify risks and mitigation plans, identify sponsor expectations, and gain sign-off by all stakeholders. o Adapt and apply standard methods and best practices to meet client needs/preferences. o Create budget and work plan/ task list, oversee adherence. o Synthesize and distill key findings from complex sets of information. o Design, Build, and Test Phase: o Manage and direct design, content, and media team leads, for both technical and non-technical aspects of the project. o Manage course testing and implement feedback as appropriate o Ensure quality of all project deliverables. o Manage relationship with deployment, delivery and support, and other teams to ensure clear communication and smooth transition from development to deployment/delivery. o Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as Project Sponsor, Solutions Management and Business Interlock focusing on delivering a high quality, comprehensive approach to learning. o Follow up with clients/customers to make sure requirements have been met. o Involve individuals with different perspectives and areas of expertise to help analyze issues or formulate approach. o Operating Phase: o Assess and address both symptoms and root causes of a problem. o Ensure that proposed solutions to a conflict have addressed the issue. o Work Management: o Monitor and control the development effort with regard to scope, process, quality, effort, risk, and timeline. o Manage resolution of project-wide issues or issues that cannot be resolved by the team leads. o Assign or delegate work to the appropriate team leads. o Encourage reuse of architectures and processes to meet requirements. Adapt and improve them. o Provide status reports to Program Director or client sponsors as required o People o Identify project resource needs, define roles and expectations of team members, and ensure resources are utilized effectively for a project. o Provide team members with a clear sense of direction and understanding of each other's responsibilities to ensure a highly motivated and efficient team. o Manage small or medium size projects, responsible for managing and coaching other project managers. o Responsible for day-to-day supervision and quality of a key area, such as learning, technology, or testing. o Act as Career counselor for people at level C and below. "
