The Organisation:

Lighthouse Communities Foundation (LCF) works in the area of skilling and livelihoods for underserved youth. This is a pioneering program with a strong public-private partnership (PPP) model, an agency-led approach to livelihoods and a vision of socio-economic transformation. The Lighthouses are run through this PPP that empowers the Government, Corporates, Nonprofits and Citizens to work together towards changing lives. The provision of location and capital expenditure for the Lighthouse centres is taken care of by the Government. Corporates contribute through CSR funds to provide operational expenses. Nonprofits come on board to provide various skilling-courses to the youth. With penetration in more than 400 of the 500 plus slum communities of Pune, the program has now expanded to other locations in Maharashtra viz. Pimpri-Chinchwad, Dombivali, Aurangabad; and also states viz. Delhi, Odisha and Telangana. The Department:

The Mission Cell at LCF constitutes the backbone of the programme intervention that is aimed at empowering India's youth through agency-building, upskilling, and access to sustainable livelihoods. Among other foci, the Mission Cell is responsible for both student-facing and staff-facing learning; including, assessing learning needs, designing learning experiences, developing learning material, monitoring programme implementation, and evaluating programme impact. At the Mission Cell, you will be working with a passionate team of mission-minded specialists, who innovate, design and implement youth-centric curricula that's iterative, rooted in love, and ushers sustainable community transformation. ABOUT THE ROLE:



The PURPOSE of the Learning Content Designer's role within the Mission Cell is to bring to life the vision of the learning experience that we have for our learner-participants. The Learning Content Designer will transform the LX (Learning Experience) Design Brief into multimedia learning-instructional material. The role is vital to ensure the learning experience is impactful for our learner-participants. The ideal candidate is a visual-design creative who believes in the power of multimodal (audio/ visual/ tactile/ kinesthetic/ etc.) learning; they will possess demonstrable ability to leverage various media innovatively to transform curriculum ideas into engaging learning material.

Your role in supplementing organisational goals:



The RESPONSIBILITY of the Learning Content Designer is to create multimedia learning-instructional material that is engaging, aesthetic and accessible/ inclusive for our learner-participants (who include youth from underserved communities and the staff at LCF).

The TASKS for the Learning Content Designer to carry out include:



? Content Design/ Re-design: Identifying appropriate and varied methods/ media to present learning-instructional content for both new and existing curricula; end-to-end design (or redesign, as required) and creation of learning-instructional material that is in alignment with expected learning outcomes. Further, ensuring that the learning-instructional content meets accessibility guidelines for people with varying disabilities.

? Observation, Evaluation & Iteration: Supporting the team with evaluation of the efficacy of learning-instructional material via pilots or observation of course implementation; and iterating content and style of materials to better serve intended learning outcomes/ accessibility needs.

? Documentation & Data Collation: Identifying appropriate methods and artifacts to document sessions and evidence of learning, during and post course implementation. Further, supporting the team with basic consolidation of data on Microsoft Excel/ Google Sheets/ Google Forms/ etc. to enable evaluation of the efficacy of learning-instructional material & courses; and contributing to collation and design of reports for donors and other stakeholders.

? Stakeholder Coordination & Communication: Working closely with the Curriculum Design team, the Course Implementation team (coordinators/ facilitators/ trainers) to ensure learning-instruction material is relevant, engaging and accessible. Further, working with translators (as required) to ensure the essence of the material is retained in other languages.

Maintaining appropriate channels of communication, to ensure periodic and clear dispersal of information regarding goals, timelines and outcomes, for the benefit of various stakeholders.

What a good fit for the role includes:



Prerequisite Knowledge and Demonstrable Skill Sets:



? Proficiency in the use of design/ data software (including Adobe Creative Suite/ Canva/ Google Workspace/ Microsoft 365/ etc.) and comfort in testing/ adapting to new design technologies

? Familiarity with documenting in various formats - photography/ audiography/ videography/ written language

? Knowledge of and familiarity with media accessibility standards

? A keen sense for design aesthetics and attention to detail

? Excellent written-proficiency in English for content creation and for documentation

? Proven ability to critically think, problem solve, engage in simultaneous projects, and work with diverse populations in dynamic environments

Preferred Professional Background:



? Bachelor's degree in any field (preferably in Graphic Design/ Digital Art/ Media &

Communications/ Education/ Development/ related fields) with demonstrable experience in Teaching-Learning Material Design/ Graphic Design/ Digital Art/ Audio-Visual Design/ Multimedia Content Design/ related domains

? Prior experience with creating and managing content on/ for Social Media/ Catalogues/ Learning Management Systems/ Online Learning Portals/ Textbooks/ etc.

? At least 3 years of related work experience or a Master's degree in Design/ Digital Media/ Communications; or a portfolio/ evidence of proficiency in the skills required for this role

? Prior experience with Learning Management Systems/ Online Learning Portals will add value

? Prior experience working with young-adults will add value
