Job Description

Summary The Lead User Experience (UI/UX) Engineer primary mission is to design, develop, analyze, document, and execute on UI/UX requirements across the wind turbine human machine interface (HMI), while delivering the best user experience. This role is part of the global Engineering team that develops and designs all GE Onshore Wind turbine controls systems. This role provides first-hand knowledge of wind turbines & wind turbine controls system design.



Essential responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for collecting, researching, investigating, and evaluating Human Machine Interface (HMI) requirements

\xc2\xb7 Develop requirements, specifications, and contributes to the design of Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens and controls systems features

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate wind turbine control WebHMI releases

\xc2\xb7 Contribute to critical phases of wind turbine controls system and software development

\xc2\xb7 Develop test cases for new or existing wind turbine control WebHMI

Required Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in User Experience, User Interface Design, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline with Renewable Energy emphasis preferred

\xc2\xb7 Minimum 5 years of UX/UI, HMI design, preferably in an industrial context

\xc2\xb7 Experience with the following programming languages and tools: HTML5, Java script, JQuery, CSS, High Chart, Bootstrap

\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with systems such as IBM CLM, DOORS and version control systems such as Git

\xc2\xb7 Strong oral and written communication skills

\xc2\xb7 Ability to succeed in a global team environment

Desired Characteristics:

\xc2\xb7 Advanced degree in User Experience, Interface Design, or a related discipline

\xc2\xb7 Proficient in Matlab Simulink

\xc2\xb7 Experience with GE internal tools such as WorkstationsST, ToolboxST and M6e

\xc2\xb7 Experience in embedded controls software development, ISA-18 standards

\xc2\xb7 Experience in the wind turbine, utility grade turbine, robotics, or automation industries

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to lead projects in a global organization

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
