Job Description


:Athena is looking for Bangalore-based technical delivery professionals with experience handling IT control and audit requirements with frontline technology engineers. Candidates will communicate risks, issues and current state of audit or regulatory engagement with various stakeholders. Candidate will also be able to proactively identify and communicate technology enhancements that can keep the platform safe and explainable.We are looking for an experienced resource to collaborate with technology engineers, architects, and management to address requests or other engagement by/with auditors and regulators. The role requires drive and a delivery mindset, with the ability to quickly assess and clearly communicate relevant risk concepts to internal Athena stakeholders and to translate relevant Athena concepts with non-Athena stakeholders. You will be working in a fast-paced environment as part of a team of highly skilled professionals who are passionate about their work. As you work on engagements, these professionals will teach you about important technology frameworks and components applied in Athena which will in turn allow you to increase your performance impact.Athena is a cross-asset platform transforming technology at JP Morgan. It delivers innovative and efficient applications to a wide range of firm\'s business, including sales, trading, operations, risk and research. Athena combines the best of open-source technologies with innovative components developed internally, which gives a potential candidate ability to contribute to wide range of exciting projects.Example engagement topics include:

  • Reviewing Athena frameworks to insure ITGC compliance
  • Elaborating detective control tools used to assure the safe platform functioning
  • Identifying and collaborating on control gap remediation
Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with and on behalf of Athena Core engineers for regional regulatory and audit engagements, including to regional peers in other divisions as necessary
  • Coordinate with stakeholders from business-aligned teams to help manage their audit or regulatory responses where appropriate
  • Work with GRC and controls partners to understand regional regulatory and audit landscape and design efficient operating model in line with overarching Athena Risk & Controls objectives
  • Contribute to the safe transition of Athena platform to modern infrastructure including cloud and JPMC central tooling, in line with audit and/or regulatory expectation
  • Identify Athena operational and/or service enhancements that will provide engagement efficiencies
  • Work with a diverse spectrum of development teams to understand their needs and help them respond effectively to audit or regulator demand
  • Drive best practices across JPMC wherever the opportunity arises
Required qualification, skills, capabilities:
  • Financial Services experience (either with a financial services institution or third party engagement with a financial services institution)
  • Experience in a Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) technology role/team
  • Flexibility and eagerness to learn new regulatory initiatives and risk control concepts
  • A passion for problem solving and technical learning
  • Practical knowledge of handling technology audit or regulatory requirements (this can include direct participation in a regulatory program or regulatory experience)
  • Motivated self-starter able to contribute individually and as part of a team as business needs dictate
  • Ability to accurately distill inputs from various stakeholders to form a coherent response for audit, regulators and other peers
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Operational risk analysis/reporting (beyond technology risk)
  • Python knowledge
