Job Summary As a Component Analysis Chapter Lead \xe2\x80\x93 Senior Lead, your role is two-fold where you will combine your strong domain expertise in Technology Product Ownership with people leadership in order to grow your chapter members. This is a strategically important role within Telstra where you will be working closely with the Chapter Area Lead to understand and plan workforce capability needs \xe2\x80\x93 both current and future.

Focus of the Role
Reporting to the Technical Analysis Chapter Type Lead, as a Technical Analysis Chapter Lead you will be responsible for building world-class technical business analyst people capability and a highly engaged chapter of passionate technical business analyst champions globally for the Technical Analysis Chapter.You will connect, engage and develop your chapter members to deliver value for customers and employees aligned to Telstra\xe2\x80\x99s objectives, supporting them to build broad technical domain expertise across the IT landscape and wider technology ecosystem in order to provide technical analysis, design, and research working with and embedded in technical capability teams; including conducting technical impact and gap analysis on their technical capabilities as part of enabling mission and capability domain and expertise.

About You

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities are the following but not limited to:

  • Modelling a culture of collaboration and continuous learning to support development of domain and interpersonal capability within the Chapter
  • Coaching and developing chapter members within the Technical Analysis Chapter to enable them to conduct technical impact and gap analysis, design and research as part of capacity planning and lifecycle management activities, providing support and feedback along the way
  • Building strong, trusting relationships within teams that enable a high performing team culture aligned to living our values
  • Providing clarity on performance, behavioural goals and expectations to your chapter team to ensure that they can contribute to both mission and chapter activity
  • Actively maintaining a talent pipeline for the chapter to ensure that workforce strategy objectives are achieved
  • Managing resource allocation, including recruitment and/or selection, to ensure capability required is available and resourcing issues are mitigated, in collaboration with Group Owners
  • Applying commercial acumen to ensure chapter and resourcing priorities are achieved within allocated budget targets
  • Collaborating with Chapter Type Lead and other Chapter Leads to determine and implement tools/common practices to be used by Chapter Members
  • Providing clarity to chapter members on current and future capability requirements to enable them to own and drive their development so they can continually grow and add value in different ways
  • Using timely feedback conversations to inspire chapter member performance and the achievement of challenging goals
  • Acting as a champion and exemplifying the ways of working mindsets and practices for all teams in which you participate
  • Identifying opportunities to innovate and create new Technical Analysis practices/approaches to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Mission/Initiative
  • Engage and inspire teams to achieve realistic but ambitious outcomes, leveraging thought leadership and expertise to shape, influence, and motivate them, or leveraging deep technical domain skills and expertise to provide technical analysis, design and research working as part of a technical capability team in one or more missions
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders (the team, product owners, technical product owners, solution designers and solution owners, as well as mission teams\xe2\x80\x99 DevOps engineers, testers, and technical writers) to analyse business needs, develop and document both functional and non-functional specifications/stories, model workflows, model data, clarify business rules and acceptance criteria to enable capability teams to successfully deliver value and mission epics
  • Apply analytical thinking during iterative analysis, development and testing activities, to provide input and anticipate and resolve issues in the identification, reporting and closing of gaps in acceptance and feasibility
  • Work with the team and technical product owners to break down work into epics, features, stories, and specifying acceptance criteria, when working in agile teams, to enable the effective planning and delivery of work
  • Provide subject matter expertise in specific functional or technical domains for assigned technical capability teams to drive solution development and/or resolve problems within the team
  • Collaborate with the team to define and measure delivery and operational performance metrics and provide input to the wider team for capability performance, growth and learning
  • Synthesise and share knowledge of emerging technology trends, innovations and disruptions, preparing tailored analysis to define and deliver reusable components and capabilities
  • Use your strong communication skills to gain buy-in and input from stakeholders and teams, into continuous improvement and ways of working
