The Purpose of This Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced

Lead Software Engineer

to join our Fidelity Health Benefits Platform (FHB) team within Workplace Investing (WI) . As a member of the FHB Product Development team, you will design, develop, and own scalable and resilient enterprise-grade solutions that powers FHB's platform capabilities. Using modern technology stacks and cloud-native architectures, you will build and continuously enhance systems aligning with enterprise software development practices. This role empowers you to contribute across the full development lifecycle while collaborating with multi-functional teams.

Advanced Java & Microservices

: Designs and develops scalable microservices using Spring Boot

Database Design

: Strong SQL skills with experience in schema design and performance tuning

Cloud Platforms

: Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP

CI/CD & Monitoring

: Improves pipelines, uses monitoring tools

System Design

: Contributes to component and system-level design

Security Practices

: Implements secure development practices and mentors others

Full-Stack Development

: Preferred experience with frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular, Typescript)

Event-Driven Architecture

: Familiar with ActiveMQ and messaging patterns

Dev Assist Tools

: Familiar with GitHub Copilot, Gemini for code reviews and refactoring

Mentorship & Collaboration

: Mentors junior engineers, collaborates across teams

The Skills that are Good to Have for this role

Exposure to the US healthcare Payor domain is preferred

The Expertise We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree - Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems with 4-8 years experience Proficiency in Java, REST API, Spring Framework , SQL Experience with enterprise grade distributed application and support
