Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack & AI Agents

Location: In office, Pune

About the Role

We are looking for a highly capable Lead Software Engineer who can design, build, and scale AI-native applications and AI Agents alongside modern full-stack systems. This role goes beyond traditional development. You will be responsible for architecting intelligent agent-based systems, ensuring high-quality AI behavior, and leveraging AI-powered development tools to accelerate delivery without compromising reliability. You will lead by example through hands-on coding, strong problem-solving, and technical mentorship, while setting a high bar for AI agent quality, robustness, and maintainability. Key Responsibilities

Core Engineering

? Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure full-stack web applications.

? Architect backend systems with a strong focus on maintainability, observability, and

performance.

? Collaborate with product, AI, and DevOps teams to translate business problems into technical

solutions.

? Write clean, efficient, testable, and well-documented code.

? Conduct rigorous code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.

AI Agent & GenAI Responsibilities

? Design, build, and maintain AI Agents for real-world production use cases.

? Work hands-on with LangChain and LangGraph to orchestrate multi-step, tool-using, and

stateful agents.

? Ensure AI Agent quality remains top-notch, including:

? Accuracy and relevance of responses ? Deterministic behavior where required ? Guardrails, fallbacks, and failure handling ? Evaluation, testing, and continuous improvement
? Define patterns for prompt engineering, memory management, tool invocation, and agent

supervision.

? Collaborate on integrating LLMs with APIs, databases, workflows, and external systems.

Productivity & Engineering Excellence

? Actively leverage AI code generation tools (Copilot, Cursor, GPT-based tools, etc.) to improve

speed and consistency.

? Review and validate AI-generated code to ensure production-grade quality and security.

? Identify technical risks early, especially in AI-driven systems, and proactively propose solutions.

? Mentor team members in both traditional engineering and AI-native development practices.

Required Skills

Frontend

? Strong experience with React.js / Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript / TypeScript.

Backend

? Proficiency in Python with frameworks like FastAPI, Django, Flask.

? Experience designing scalable APIs and backend services.

AI & Agent Frameworks

? Hands-on experience with LangChain.

? Experience with LangGraph or similar agent orchestration frameworks.

? Practical experience building, testing, and deploying AI Agents.

Databases & APIs

? Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

? Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs (GraphQL is a plus).

Architecture & DevOps

? Solid understanding of system design, microservices, and modular architectures.

? Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

Problem Solving & Quality

? Exceptional problem-solving ability with a structured, first-principles mindset.

? Strong focus on quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability, especially for AI systems.

Nice to Have

? Experience with evaluation frameworks for LLMs / AI agents.

? Exposure to Kubernetes or serverless architectures.

? Experience with performance optimization and security best practices.

? Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.
