As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, you play a vital role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering reliable, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. As a key technical contributor, you will be responsible for implementing essential technology solutions across diverse technical domains, supporting various business functions to achieve the firm's strategic goals.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
Minimum of 8+ years of total experience, with significant experience in software architecture
Ability to be hands-on with development tasks (70% of the time) while leading and mentoring a team of developers (30% of the time).
Proficiency in Java for backend development.
Experience with AWS services for cloud computing and deployment.
Frontend development skills with React or Angular.
Experience with relational databases(Postgres, Oracle, Aurora etc.)
Strong understanding and experience in designing, developing, and deploying microservices.
Ability to work closely with architects on both high-level and low-level design aspects.
In-depth knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, SQS, ECS/EKS , S3.
Experience with OpenSearch or ElasticSearch for search and analytics capabilities.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Terraform
Experience with No-SQL databases
Knowledge in leveraging AI tools like Codeium and Copilot to enhance development efficiency and productivity.
