Sense is looking for a

Lead Software Engineer - II

to join our

Voice Engineering

team in

Bangalore

. This is a senior

Individual Contributor (IC)

role, where you'll be responsible for designing and building highly scalable, multi-system backend services with strict SLAs. You'll play a crucial role in shaping the technical direction of the team and establishing best engineering practices.

Note:

This is a full-time,

on-site

position based out of our

Bangalore office

. You will be expected to work from the office five days a week.

Responsibilities

System Design & Architecture:

Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient backend systems.

Engineering Leadership:

Drive technical discussions and decision-making within the team. Conduct thorough

tech design and code reviews

to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and robust code.

Engineering Excellence:

Establish and promote best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing, and deployment processes.

System Optimization:

Implement

monitoring and observability

practices to track system performance and proactively identify bottlenecks. Optimize systems for cost efficiency, scalability, and resilience on AWS.

Mentorship:

Guide and mentor other engineers on the team, helping them grow their technical skills and understand complex system designs.

Job Requirement

Experience:

8-14 years of progressive software development experience, with a proven track record of building and operating large-scale, distributed systems.

Technical Proficiency:

+

Strong proficiency in Python

and a deep understanding of web frameworks like

Flask

.
+

Strong proficiency in SQL

and experience with relational databases like

MySQL

.
+ Solid experience with

AWS

for deploying and managing backend services, data infrastructure, and serverless architectures.
+ Past experience of working with an

Application Performance Management

tool like

Datadog

.

Problem-Solving:

Proven ability to tackle complex technical challenges and a track record of successfully delivering impactful projects.

Communication:

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Good to have Skills

Multi-Agent Frameworks:

Prior knowledge and/or experience working with

multi-agent frameworks

like CrewAI or LangGraph.

LLM Observability:

Experience of working with

LLM Observability

tools like

Arize AI

or

Langfuse

is a plus.
