Reporting to the Architect, Quality Assurance , the Lead Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Lead SDET) will be responsible for the following duties and obligations:

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Lead SDET to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable test automation frameworks and practices. This role requires a deep understanding of both automation architecture and quality assurance methodologies, with a hands-on approach to coding, tool implementation, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will bring leadership and technical depth in both frontend and backend test automation.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Automation Framework Development:

Design and customize robust, scalable and reusable test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium and Appium. Expand automation test suites while adhering to framework and coding standards. Handle automation packages for test regressions and address any issues that arise.

Technical Expertise:

Strong programming skills in Java for developing and maintaining test scripts. Conduct back-end (database) testing and validation. Perform web services, REST API and microservices testing and validation. Provide oversight on test infrastructure, ensuring robustness and scalability.

Test Execution and Maintenance:

Execute automated test packages for regression testing and resolve any issues. Continuously refine and improve automation test suites to enhance software quality. Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar DevOps tools.

Software Quality Assurance:

Apply a continuous and iterative testing approach to ensure software quality. Utilize Testing Lifecycle Management principles, especially for mobile products. Perform both manual and automated testing as needed.

Process Improvement:

Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define test requirements and create comprehensive test plans. Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems to ensure quality considerations are integrated early in the development process.

Leadership and Mentorship:

Lead and mentor SDET team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Performance Testing:

Exposure to performance testing is a plus, with a willingness to expand skills in this area.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

10+ years of experience in SDET Role. Strong programming skills in Java. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly in Jenkins or similar DevOps tools. Solid understanding of Software Lifecycle and Quality Assurance processes. Experience in back-end (database) testing and validation. Experience in web services, REST API and microservices testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes, with a strong understanding of software development life cycles, particularly agile and DevOps methodologies. Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Certification in quality assurance (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE), and knowledge of programming languages and scripting (e.g., Java). Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Familiarity with container management, API gateways, and tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Working Conditions:

This position typically operates in a professional office environment. Occasional travel may be required for training or conferences. Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary to meet project deadlines.
