Lead Software Developer - Team Management We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Software Developer to take charge of a dynamic team of 3 to 5 software developers located in Hyderabad, India. The Lead Software Developer will report to the Software Development Manager based in Montreal. Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of 3 to 5 software developers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and support. Fostering a positive and collaborative team culture that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth. Project Management: Coordinating with stakeholders, project managers, and product owners to understand project requirements and priorities. Allocating tasks and managing the team\'s workload to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Technical Expertise: Acting as a technical resource for your team, providing guidance on architectural decisions, design patterns, and best practices. Reviewing code and providing constructive feedback to maintain high-quality coding standards. Solution Design: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design innovative software solutions that address complex business challenges. Translating business requirements into technical specifications and overseeing their implementation. Quality Assurance: Ensuring that software applications developed by the team meet high standards of quality, security, and performance. Implementing and enforcing coding standards, testing methodologies, and quality assurance processes. Continuous Improvement: Promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Staying up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies and make recommendations for adopting new tools or practices that can enhance the team\'s efficiency and effectiveness. Collaboration: Working closely with the Head of Department and Leadership Team to align development efforts with overall business strategies. Collaborating with other leads to drive cross-functional initiatives and share best practices. People Development: Identifying and nurturing talent within your team, supporting career growth and skill development. Conducting regular performance reviews, setting clear goals, and providing constructive feedback. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience (10+ years) as a Software Developer with in-depth knowledge of backend PHP development, object-oriented programming, and modern development frameworks. Knowledge of design patterns in PHP and typical implementations Knowledge of PHP Standard Recommendation (PSR) and framework using them. Knowledge of PHP static analysis tools: phpcs, phpcpd, phpmd, phpunit Intermediate experience (5+ years) in Python development with knowledge of virtual environment Proficiency in JavaScript, front-end development (HTML, CSS) Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting NGINX and FastCGI (PHP-FPM) in a Linux environments Proficiency with Jenkins and Gitlab CI/CD pipelines. Strong familiarity with version control systems (GIT), the merge workflow, and change management processes in a corporate setting (ITSM). Previous experience leading a software development team is required. Excellent troubleshooting and bug analysis skills. Knowledge of deferred authentication systems (OAuth2, OpenID, etc.) Desired Skills: Experience with Ansible role design. Experience with PHP microservices architecture Experience with SonarQube Experience with Swagger-php and OpenAPI Profile Fit: Collaborative and positive team player who contributes to the overall success of the department and organization.
