Summary Project Management/ Planning/ Coordinating activities typically in the context of a production or services project to fulfill a customer order or need according to financial/commercial parameters and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Summary/Purpose

Part of the Hydro Services team for GE Renewable Energy India and reporting directly to the Regional Head Services, the Project Manager will execute all Services projects (TX Transactional + SR Simple Retrofit) for Turbine, Generator, Control and Governors or Valves works, operationally leading a cross functional teams of engineers, buyers, planner, and field operation specialists.

Primary responsibilities

In this role, the Project Manager will be responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources with the support of the Services Field Reliability and Operations Engineer, Field Operations Leader, Planner and Buyer.

In her/his role, the Project Manager will: * To take handover from HSM\xe2\x80\x99s (Hydro Service Managers) and Comops (Commercial Operation)

  • Drive the project strategy focusing on Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, Compliance and Quality always during project execution as per GE guidelines.
  • Build the Project detailed budget and schedule.
  • Deliver project On-Time and in line with Budget.
  • Manage PR raise and PO placement with Service Planner/ Sourcing.
  • Drive the assessment and mitigation of risks throughout the project and develop recovery plan when needed.
  • Ensures project implementation as well as work packages and constraints are accurately integrated into project planning scenario.
  • Responsible for monitoring progress and producing accurate projections of time and cost.
  • Ensures other functions have access to accurate current reports and projections and relevant reports are available.
  • Presents projects plans, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior business leaders.
  • Monitor invoicing finished goods packing and forwarding to site with other functions.
  • To discuss openly with HSM\xe2\x80\x99s and resolve, any disputes related to customer.
  • To support HSM on cash collection and other customer related issues, to maintain HSM as single contact with customer.
  • The Project Manager will be primary liaison / point of contact between GE Hydro/Service Leadership, GE Hydro/Engineering, project management, supply chain, the site team, sale team and end user. Scope includes ensuring the completeness of the deliverable solutions of GE Hydro services.

Required Qualifications * Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from an accredited university or college in business or engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • 15 years professional experience including:
  • Minimum 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Project management (small size/fast track projects/services projects)
  • Minimum 15 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with rotating machinery or hydro equipment (preferred)
  • Experience with planning and scheduling
  • Experience in engineering, procurement and construction contracts including site activities.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
Desired Qualifications * Knowledge of the Hydro customers in the area is valued.
  • Project Management Professional certification is desirable.
  • Engineering or Field Operation work experience is valued.
  • Able to read drawings and understand mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems, understanding of system potential failure modes.
  • Deliver with focus and a high say/do ratio.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics.
  • Power Generation, Renewable Energy and Hydro experience at ease with IT tools, incl. MS suite office, Microsoft Project, SAP, PLM knowledge, Power max.
