About the role:
The role is for a position leading the GDM Security team in India, Gurgaon, helping keep GDM's Applications and Infrastructure secure. The role is responsible for partnering with Gartner IT InfoSec and the GDM Engineering teams to manage the ongoing Security posture of third-party and custom applications along with GDM's cloud-based infrastructure. Given the high priority of GDM Security and the required collaboration with Gartner IT, this role will report directly to the Managing VP leading GDM Engineering.
What You Will do:
Work closely with other Gartner teams to ensure the GDM infrastructure and applications are secure and compliant
Partner with Gartner InfoSec on high priority security incidents, helping keep GDM aligned with their direction and effectively communicating the status of GDM security incidents
Educate the greater GDM product and engineering teams on security concepts and best practices
Clearly convey our security posture through diagrams and documentation
Facilitate periodic scans of our infrastructure and applications in collaboration with Security team, helping coordinate follow-up remediations, as necessary
Identify threats and vulnerabilities to our systems and help mitigate them
Work with product and development teams to ensure new features are designed securely
Strive to be proactive in all security related work
Stay up-to-date on security related announcements
Be a strong people leader, helping manage and develop junior Security Engineers on the team
What You Will Need:
Minimum of bachelor's in engineering degree
6+ years of experience as a security engineer or related position
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to influence outcomes across multiple teams without direct supervisory control
Deep understanding of the types of vulnerabilities for web applications, cloud infrastructure, and traditional colocation infrastructure
Extensive knowledge of operating systems and database security
In depth knowledge of security protocols and principles
Linux/UNIX command line skills
Solid understanding of networking, HTTP, and the Internet
Knowledge of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing
Knowledge or experience of Architecture reviews
Nice to have:
Experience leading small teams
OSCP Certification
An associate level AWS certification
Certification in cybersecurity
Ability to write simple shell or Python scripts
Experience with vulnerability management platform
