As the Lead for Retail Risk Management-Portfolio Management, you will play a pivotal role in driving the risk management strategy for Mashreq's Retail Asset products. Your primary focus will be on implementing robust portfolio monitoring processes, analyzing risk parameters, and providing insightful reviews to senior management. This role offers an opportunity to shape the risk management landscape within the organization and contribute to its overall success.
Key responsibilities include

• Managing and implementing a robust Portfolio Monitoring for Retail Asset products.
• Preparation of Monthly detailed portfolio monitoring presentations using Power BI for a comprehensive review of risk parameters and their performance.
• Performing an extensive analysis on any upcoming adverse portfolio trends or any concern areas in the portfolio and proving assurance/escalation to senior stakeholders through monthly and quarterly reviews

Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute a comprehensive Portfolio Monitoring strategy for Retail Asset products, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Prepare detailed monthly presentations using Power BI, showcasing risk parameter performance and trends for a thorough portfolio review.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of adverse portfolio trends and potential risk areas, providing timely escalations and assurance to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring a proactive approach to risk management.
• Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks, incorporating these insights into risk management strategies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, providing them with regular updates and strategic recommendations.
• Oversee the implementation of risk management policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across the organization.
• Mentor and guide the Retail Risk Management team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of risk metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of technological advancements and explore innovative solutions to enhance risk management processes and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Retail Risk Management, with a proven track record of leading and managing risk teams.
• Strong expertise in portfolio monitoring, risk analysis, and reporting, with a deep understanding of Retail Asset products.
• Proficiency in using Power BI or similar data visualization tools for creating insightful presentations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
• Strong leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards pertaining to Retail Risk Management.
• Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and a continuous desire for professional development.
