Job Description

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Process Design: Develop and design manufacturing processes to meet production requirements and improve overall performance. Create detailed process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Process Flow: Analyze and optimize process flows to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline production processes. o Check the manufacturability of the product (participates in preparing/buying analysis, defines the target cost in line with project targets).
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • List of Requirements (LOR): Development - Develop comprehensive LORs for new processes, equipment, and systems. Review - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CFT) to review and refine the LORs. Sign-Off - Obtain sign-off from relevant stakeholders on the finalized LORs. Release - Release the approved LORs to the MD/ BU / External suppliers for manufacturing the New Machines / Assembly lines.
  • Validation Trials and FTPR: Oversee validation trials to ensure new processes and equipment meet performance requirements. Conduct First Time Production Run (FTPR) at the supplier end to verify process stability and product quality before moving the lines to the plant. Upon satisfactory results , move the production lines to JE Chennai & complete the Process qualification, sign-off, Pilot run, PPAP and SOP.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best practices to enhance productivity. Conduct root cause analysis of process issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all processes and equipment comply with safety regulations and standards and promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Capacity Planning: Assess and plan for production capacity to meet current and future demand and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze process data to identify trends, monitor performance, and make data-driven decisions. Process Validation: Conduct process validation and qualification activities to ensure new processes and equipment meet performance requirements. Problem-Solving: Address and resolve process-related issues and challenges that arise during production.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present process performance reports, project updates, and other relevant information to stakeholders
  • Ensure implementation and coordination of all Methods and process activities against internal standards and customer requirements: Follow up JEPS methodology as relevant, Production System Implementation (Flow-Chart, PFMEA, Control Plan, Work Instruction, Records,).
  • Project Management: Lead, develop and launch new projects and programmes, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including production, quality, and procurement, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation
