Position Summary

HYA Tech Private Limited is seeking an experienced

Lead PLC Engineer

to drive the development, programming, and integration of advanced automation systems across manufacturing lines. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in

PLC programming

,

HMI development

,

industrial automation

, and experience supporting

NPI (New Product Introduction)

. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to collaborate across engineering functions.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Project Ownership

Lead the PLC engineering team and manage automation-related projects end-to-end. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful planning, execution, and commissioning. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on PLC/HMI issues.

PLC Programming & Development

Develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC programs for automated machinery. Work with brands such as

Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron

, etc. Develop and configure

HMI/SCADA interfaces

for real-time machine monitoring. Optimize programs for cycle time improvement, safety, and performance stability.

Automation Integration

Integrate PLC systems with robots, vision systems, sensors, actuators, and industrial networks. Validate system I/O, communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus), and safety circuits. Diagnose and resolve system-level issues involving electrical, pneumatic, and control systems.

NPI (New Product Introduction)

Lead PLC engineering involvement during pilot builds and new product launches. Create automation concepts and feasibility studies for new product requirements. Support process validation, FAT/SAT, and ramp-up activities.

Shop-Floor & Production Support

Provide real-time troubleshooting for automation equipment during production. Conduct preventive maintenance and health checks on PLC-based systems. Implement upgrades to improve reliability, throughput, and safety.

Documentation & Compliance

Prepare detailed documentation: control logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, SOPs, FAT/SAT protocols, and test reports. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and customer specifications.

Required Skills & Experience

8-10 years of hands-on experience in

PLC programming & industrial automation

. Strong understanding of

mechanical systems, motion control, pneumatics, and electrical circuits

. Expertise in at least one major PLC platform: Siemens / Allen Bradley / Mitsubishi / Omron. Experience with HMI/SCADA development (WinCC, FactoryTalk, GT Designer, etc.). Knowledge of industrial communication:

Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, Profibus

. Experience in leading NPI automation activities. Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical abilities. Ability to lead a small engineering team and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with robotics integration (Fanuc, ABB, UR, Yaskawa). Basic knowledge of machine vision systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control panel designs. Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
