  • In this role, you'll be joining our Azure Engineering team within Cloud Productivity & Engineering (CPE) as a Lead Platform Engineering, Manager. This team focuses on building, developing, and supporting our Azure cloud platform to accelerate the time-to-market of innovative finance products. In collaboration with Microsoft, we aim to transform how LSEG leverages the cloud platform.
  • This is a hands-on team leadership role involving both leading the team and writing platform code/automation.
  • Engage in designing, developing, and building complex cloud services and capabilities.
  • Work alongside architects, developers, and other engineers to ensure efficient Azure self service automation capabilities across the platform.
  • Active involvement in decision making areas such as networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery and governance.
Tech Profile/Essential Skills
  • 5 plus years experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud and hybrid Azure Platform solutions.
  • Can demonstrate deep knowledge in setting up Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zones and hands on experience with Microsofts Cloud Adoption Framework.
  • Prior experience in roles such as Azure administration, development, or Azure-focused DevOps.
  • Previous experience leading and mentoring Cloud teams/Communities of Practice.
  • Proven leadership skills, and capable of building and managing technical teams/comunities of practice.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud native components.
  • 5 years demonstrable experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and CI/CD principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Gitlab.
  • Adept at collaborating in diverse teams, with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 5 years with Windows/Linux servers
  • Sound understanding of financial markets and working within a product centric organisation.

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related STEM degree.
Detailed ResponsibilitiesThis is a hands-on team leadership role where you will spend around 50% of your time on team leadership activities, running stand-ups, directing the platform team and refining the product roadmap. The other 50% will be hands-on, writing code, making design decisions and implementing automation/changes within the cloud.
  • Lead and guide platform engineers, encouraging excellence in Azure development, and DevOps processes.
  • Enable application teams through a concierge and collaborative approach
  • Engineer and further automate integration of external applications to enable customer end to end deployments.
  • Collaborate with Azure Platform engineers, architects and product managers to refine the backlog and input into the roadmap
  • Participate in Product related activities to meet operational needs.
  • To ensure knowledge articles of all supported systems are continually updated.
  • To provide a high level of customer service, whilst working under pressure.
  • To follow and adhere to established Demand Management, Incident Management and Change Management procedures.
