Responsible for leading the newly established Melting Function under QA, ensuring accuracy and accountability in gold input material melting before refining process.
Oversee all operations related to receipt, weighing, melting, sampling, and assaying of various gold inputs including TEP, GEP, boutique recalls, scraps, and by-products.
Coordinate with Assay Lab to ensure input gold quality and purity matches declared standards.
Drive initiatives to improve traceability, process control, and loss accounting of input gold.
Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards including melting fume extraction and scrubber operations.
Manage daily team operations, manpower planning (including agency staff) & shift rosters
Act as the key liaison for all input quality disputes or variation analysis with assay lab and store teams.
Lead MIS reporting for melting output, variation trends, and input gold loss tracking for management.
Participate in CAPEX/OPEX planning related to melting infrastructure, manpower, and machinery.
Lead the setup and day-to-day operations of the melting function
Ensure accuracy in receipt, weighing, and sampling of all gold input materials
Oversee melting and sampling activities across both shifts, managing L level & agency manpower
Coordinate purity variation reporting and dispute handling with Stores & Assay Lab
Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and purity control systems
Develop daily/weekly/monthly MIS on gold inputs, outputs, and variations
Drive loss monitoring initiatives and RCA for process deviations
Liaise with refining team for timely and accurate input supply
Conduct periodic audits of melting operations and update SOPs as needed
Supervise melting operations and agency team performance
Conduct sampling audits and coordinate with assay labs for result validation
Drive 5S, safety, and quality initiatives across melting area
Prepare monthly manpower, loss, and productivity reports for management
Facilitate training of new manpower on melting and sampling best practices
Raise and monitor indent for consumables and spare parts
Review process gaps and lead continuous improvement efforts
Conduct interface meetings with Assay Lab, Stores, and Supply Chain team for input purity issues
Work Experience
B.E/B.Tech/Diploma in /Chemical/ Metallurgy/ Production Engineering or Bachelor Degree
Age : 25-35 Years, Male Candidates
5 to 8 years of experience in gold jewellery manufacturing/refining/metallurgical operations
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role
Strong process ownership and accountability
Attention to detail and adherence to SOPs
Good interpersonal and team handling skills
Ability to coordinate across departments and functions
Conflict resolution and problem-solving mindset
Willingness to work in a high-security, shift-based environment
Knowledge of melting furnace operations, gold alloy behavior, and sample-taking techniques
Familiarity with gold purity analysis methods (XRF, Fire Assay)
Awareness of gold loss points and mitigation strategies
Understanding of CAPEX/OPEX planning and process documentation
Environmental norms related to gold melting (e.g., scrubber, fume extraction)
