Orange Health is establishing an in-house medical documentation team to manage Medical Examination Reports (MERs) for our insurance partners. As the Lead, you will oversee a team of trained medical professionals conducting telephonic assessments, reviewing clinical information, and ensuring accuracy in health declarations that influence insurance policy decisions. You will serve as the primary clinical reviewer and signatory, responsible for quality assurance, compliance, and team training.
Key Responsibilities
MER Oversight:
Review and validate MERs prepared by the in-house team based on client interviews.
Sign off on MERs as per insurer and regulatory guidelines.
Flag and assess complex or medically ambiguous cases for further evaluation.
Team Leadership & Training:
Lead and mentor a team of medical practitioners (B.Sc Nursing/GNM, BHMS, BAMS, BDS).
Conduct training on interviewing protocols, documentation standards, and insurer-specific workflows.
Foster a high-performance culture with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
Medical Compliance & Quality Control:
Ensure all reports meet medical accuracy, insurer requirements, and applicable compliance standards.
Maintain high-quality documentation practices and escalate any deviations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, product, and operations teams to improve workflows.
Liaise with underwriting teams of insurance partners to update and refine medical review criteria.
Skills Required
Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in structured documentation and digital tools (EMRs, CRMs).
Excellent communication, leadership, and training abilities.
Detail-oriented, ethical, and process-driven mindset.
Qualifications
Minimum Required (any one):
MBBS (preferred)
BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)
BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery)
BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery)
Experience
1-3 years of clinical practice or relevant documentation/assessment experience.
Exposure to telemedicine, insurance, TPA, or medical documentation is a plus.
Prior team leadership experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
