This is a high-impact role for a hands-on and strategic IT systems engineer to lead enterprise infrastructure initiatives. You will oversee identity, access, collaboration, and cloud platforms while providing technical leadership to a small team of engineers. Your work will ensure secure, scalable, and efficient IT systems supporting a remote-first workforce. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive architectural decisions, and implement automation workflows that improve operational efficiency and governance. The role combines strategic influence with practical execution, allowing you to make a tangible impact on enterprise systems and security practices.
Accountabilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of IT systems engineers, setting technical direction, reviewing work, and developing team capabilities.
  • Architect, implement, and maintain identity and access management systems using Okta Identity Engine, Okta Workflows, and Teleport (including JIT access, RBAC, and least privilege principles).
  • Administer and automate enterprise SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Notion, and Jamf.
  • Manage endpoint provisioning, compliance, and security for MacOS-first environments.
  • Develop automation for user and system lifecycle management using scripting and APIs (Python, Bash).
  • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure resources across AWS, GCP, and Azure to support internal tooling and engineering projects.
  • Define and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar tools, integrating identity platforms securely.
  • Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to ensure secure, timely access to resources.
  • Lead incident response processes related to access and enterprise tooling.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement tools and services to enhance security, automation, and operational scalability.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise systems engineering with demonstrated technical leadership and architectural decision-making.
  • Proven expertise in identity management systems, particularly Okta Identity Engine and Okta Workflows.
  • Experience designing and implementing secure access frameworks using Teleport.
  • Strong multi-cloud knowledge (AWS, GCP, Azure) with experience in architectural planning, governance, and security integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, or Deployment Manager).
  • Experience integrating and leading SaaS platform management (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Notion, Jamf).
  • Skilled in MacOS endpoint management balancing security and usability.
  • Strong automation, scripting, and API integration skills (Python, Bash).
  • Proven experience developing and implementing DLP frameworks, access governance, and enterprise security strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate technical concepts to cross-functional audiences.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and collaboration skills.
