• The role holder is responsible for developing Insecticide Biology Plan with clear technical objectives.
• Responsible for timely and accurate compilation of in house and institutional trials for shortlisted molecules for insecticides with science based approach, including analysis, interpretations and summary preparation, draw right conclusion and secured documentation.
• The role provides product based recommendations, support for new product training and customer complaints resolution for new launched products and responsible for product recommendation in POP and publications in reputed journals.

Strategic Responsibilities

• Provide inputs to PD Head for prioritizing and developing shortlist of new molecules for development ( Viability, cost effectiveness, time to launch, market readiness and need).
• Provide inputs to PD Head for preparing annual product evaluation and acquisition strategy and annual business plan targets (eg. Details for internal committee approvals, in-house trials plan, institutional trials plan, cost for trials).
• Provide inputs to PD Head to develop detailed New Product Development Operation plan taking into consideration the lead time for registration, time to launch products in market.
• Develop contacts with academia/ research institutions/ crop committee forums including participation in product development forums for understanding latest research trends and advancements in product development and evaluating potential tie-ups for institutional trials.

Operational ResponsibilitiesTrials Management

• Prepare insecticide products biology plan with clear technical objectives.
• Prepare and timely share, protocols for all the insecticide products related to bio efficacy, large plot trials and large plot demonstrations for in house and institutional trials.
• Conduct desktop analysis for new insecticide.
• Plan & execute insecticide trials with the help of product evaluation team for in-house field trials conduction for new molecules as well as existing products as directed by the department Head.
• Plan, co-ordinate and monitor research, trails and tests by empanelled institutions, as per directions from PD Head.
• Ensure progress of research, trials and testing as per planned timelines and budgets. Implement necessary corrective actions for course correction (eg. feedback to institutional partners, prioritization of trial activities, budget allocation).
• Communicate research, trials and testing findings to the Department Head, ensure timely resolution of bottle necks in product evaluation, with the guidance of the manager (eg. Technical certifications, budgetary support, resolution of issues with institutional partners)
• Monitor through regular field trials visit and share the tour report timely with clear indication/key findings).
• Ensure documentation of research, trial and test results, as per specified guidelines (eg. documentation requirements, regulatory guidelines and registration committee directives).
• Ensure all trials (in-house/institutional trials) adhere to quality and methodologies prescribed for the conduct of such trails.
• Close co-ordination with field product evaluation team and regulatory team for the residue sampling.
• Ensure submission and validation of research trails and testing procedures and results to the regulatory support trails and documentation team, as per specified documentation formats and reporting guidelines.
• Ensure timely response to research, trails, and testing related to queries from the registration team as required (eg. technical details, reporting procedure, regulatory clarifications, registration committee queries).
• Plan responses and defence for queries/ clarifications for products that come under review.
• Develop product technical positioning document as a ready reckoner for internal team\'s training.
• Close coordination with sales and marketing team for product trainings and development (LPD) and complaint resolution.

Publications

• Regular publications from respective SAU\'S and PI insecticide to be included in Packages of Practices of the respective SAU/State Govt./National Institutes for recommendation.

New Product Trainings

• Provide new product trainings to field sales, farmers and dealers as per the identified trainings plan.
• Provide support to the internal stake holders for resolution of customer complaints/technical queries related to new products/existing products, as required (eg. Product performance, queries on product handling).

Market Development Support

• Build relationship and contacts in Agricultural universities to enable participation in new trials and product development actions.
• Ensure key market happenings related to product development are reported to the Head-Product Development on a continuous basis to enable planning for new trails and research (eg. Competitors research activities, competitor trial status, new product performance, product development breakthroughs).

Financial Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to budgets for product evaluation trails and testing, institutional and in-house, as per plan (eg. Trials, testing, development, field travels, administration).
• Assess alternatives to enhance cost effectiveness of the final product through effective research, trials and testing procedures (eg. Alternate chemicals, cost effective packaging).

People Responsibilities

• Attend trainings or needs identified or imparted by HR to enhance performance.

New Product Launches

• Provide new product trainings to marketing & sales teams.
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Sales team for New Product launch initiatives and handling customer queries and complaints resolution for new launches.
• Review and approve labels & leaflets for new product launches.

Education Qualification

• M.Sc(Agri)
• Doctorate in Agriculture (PhD) would be an added advantage

Work Experience

• 6+ year experience in handling new molecule research & development trials & lab scale trials.
