Senior Backend Engineer - Java, Kafka, AWS
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will build and maintain backend systems that support our core business applications. You will work mainly with Java, APIs, Kafka, and AWS, and help create scalable and reliable services.
What You Will Do
Build, improve, and maintain backend services using Java.
Create and manage REST APIs and microservices that work smoothly with other systems.
Use Apache Kafka to handle real-time data and event-based processing.
Deploy and run backend applications on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.).
Work closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams.
Find and fix performance, reliability, and security issues.
Review code, guide junior engineers, and share knowledge with the team.
Write clean, well-tested code and follow best practices for CI/CD.
Stay updated with new backend technologies and tools.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in backend software development.
Strong experience with Java and object-oriented programming.
Hands-on experience building REST APIs and microservices.
Experience using Apache Kafka for messaging or data streaming.
Experience working with AWS cloud services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudWatch.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
Understanding of Agile development, CI/CD, and the software development lifecycle.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
