Job Summary

We are seeking a talented

API Engineer

to design, build, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and performant RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with API development, strong knowledge of HTTP and authentication standards, and practical exposure to API management and cloud platforms--

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality RESTful APIs. Ensure API performance, scalability, and security at all stages. Collaborate with frontend, backend, and product teams to integrate new and existing APIs. Manage API versioning, rate limiting, throttling, and error handling. Implement secure authentication and authorization using

OAuth2, JWT, API Keys

. Monitor API performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot effectively. Create and maintain API documentation using

Swagger / OpenAPI

. Contribute to defining best practices, standards, and patterns for API development.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of

REST principles

and API design best practices.

AWS experience is mandatory.

Strong working knowledge of HTTP concepts, JSON, XML, headers, and status codes. Hands-on experience with

OAuth2, JWT, API Keys

, and securing APIs end-to-end. Experience with API management platforms such as

Kong, AWS API Gateway

, or similar. Expertise in API lifecycle management:

design, deployment, versioning, deprecation

. Experience with rate limiting, caching, logging, and monitoring for APIs. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with

CI/CD pipelines

and DevOps workflows.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience in

Java development

is an added advantage.
