Job Title: Microsoft Power Platform Technical Consultant
Role Overview
The Microsoft Power Platform Technical Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-grade solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse, with seamless integration to Dynamics 365 and external systems.
A primary focus of this role is the design, development, and maintenance of external-facing Customer Portal solutions using
Power Pages (formerly Power Apps Portals)
, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performance user experiences for customers, partners, and dealers.
The role works closely with Solution Architects, Dynamics 365 teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, well-governed, and highly optimized Power Platform solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Development
Design and develop external-facing customer portals using Power Pages for customers, partners, and dealers.
Implement authentication, authorization, and user lifecycle management using Azure AD B2C / Microsoft Entra External ID.
Design and develop applications using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven).
Build, optimize, and maintain business process automations using Power Automate cloud flows and, where applicable, desktop flows.
Design and develop analytical dashboards and reports using Power BI.
Extend Microsoft Dynamics 365 functionality using Power Platform components.
Integration & Data Architecture
Configure Power Pages-Dataverse integration, including web roles, table permissions, and portal security models.
Integrate portals with backend systems and third-party services using REST APIs and Azure services.
Design and implement custom connectors, API integrations, and dataflows.
Configure and manage Dataverse tables, relationships, business rules, forms, and views.
Integrate Power Platform solutions with Azure services and third-party systems, ensuring secure connectivity through OAuth, managed identities, and role-based access control.
Technical Design, ALM & Governance
Participate in solution architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
Implement environment strategies, solution packaging, and ALM best practices for Power Platform.
Ensure adherence to security, DLP, and governance standards across Power Platform environments.
Support CI/CD implementation for Power Platform solutions using DevOps pipelines.
Performance Optimization & Support
Optimize Power Pages portal performance, security, and scalability to support high user volumes.
Provide Level 3 (L3) technical support for portal-related and Power Platform production issues.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application and flow performance.
Support platform upgrades, feature adoption, and continuous optimization initiatives.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Prepare and maintain technical design documents, configuration guides, and support documentation.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and business validation activities.
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal capability building and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience
5+ years of experience in Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 technical implementations.
Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale Power Platform solutions.
Technical Expertise
Hands-on experience with Power Pages (Power Apps Portals) development and configuration.
Strong understanding of portal security, including web roles, table permissions, and access control.
Experience with Liquid templates, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for portal customization.
Experience implementing external user authentication using Azure AD B2C / Microsoft Entra External ID.
Strong expertise in:

+ Power Automate (cloud flows and integration patterns)
+ Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboards, and reports)
+ Dataverse (data modeling, security, and performance optimization) Strong understanding of integration patterns, REST APIs, and custom connectors.
Working knowledge of Azure services such as Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Service Bus.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, solution management, and CI/CD pipelines.
