Job Title:

Team Leader - Trade Operations (Pre-Trade Transaction Services)


Role Summary:



As the Team Leader of the Pre-Trade Transaction Services team, you will be responsible for managing daily operations related to cash processing, FX movements, and custody instructions. This role requires leadership in managing people, operational oversight, risk control, and ensuring service excellence for internal stakeholders. You will play a key role in maintaining process integrity, mitigating risk, and fostering a high-performance team culture.


Key Responsibilities


1. Team Leadership & Supervision




Lead and supervise daily activities of the team, ensuring timely and accurate execution of tasks. Assist with workload planning, task prioritization, and capacity/resource management. Provide mentorship, coaching, and training to team members to promote skills development and team performance. Support the manager in team evaluations and succession planning. Act as deputy in the manager's absence.

2. Cash & FX Processing




Process custodian-dealt FX transactions and ensure correct portfolio allocations. Investigate FX reconciliation breaks and liaise with custodians and internal teams to resolve discrepancies. Oversee cash flow processing, including fees, expenses, distributions, margin payments, and STIF transactions. Manage synthetic FX reconciliation and instruct ad hoc FX and other required payments. Monitor client overdrafts, investigate causes, and produce relevant reporting.

3. Operational & Risk Management




Ensure compliance with internal controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Contribute to risk mitigation through effective process review, RCA (Risk and Control Assessments), and business continuity planning (BCP). Identify and escalate risk events or potential control failures proactively. Assist with updates to procedures and continuous process improvements.

4. Performance & Stakeholder Communication




Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly Management Information (MI) reports. Liaise with investment teams and respond to operational and cash-related queries. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and external custodians. Provide timely updates on team performance and development opportunities to senior management.

5. Compliance & Disclosure




Ensure prompt and transparent reporting of issues, with thorough documentation and resolution tracking. Promote a culture of integrity, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.

Must-Have Skills & Experience


Technical/Industry Knowledge




Minimum

7+ years

of experience in operations, with at least

3+ years

in a leadership role within

cash and FX processing

. Deep understanding of the

end-to-end asset lifecycle

, including pre- and post-trade processes. Strong knowledge of

operational risks

and internal control frameworks. Familiarity with

custody instructions

Leadership & Management




Proven experience managing teams, including mentoring, coaching, and performance management. Ability to plan, delegate, and prioritize workloads in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated success in driving process improvement and operational change.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with cross-functional and global teams. Confident in stakeholder management and resolving escalated issues.

Analytical & Problem Solving




High level of numeracy and analytical thinking. Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions. Comfortable working with management information (MI) reporting tools.

Good-to-Have (Nice-to-Have) Skills


Asset management qualifications such as

IOC

, or equivalent. Experience or certification in

Project Management

(e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, Six Sigma). Advanced Excel skills or experience with data analysis/visualization tools. Knowledge of synthetic FX, derivative-related cash flows, and margining processes. Experience participating in audits, governance reviews, or regulatory assessments. Experience working on systems integration or transformation initiatives.
