Role description

We are seeking a Senior Backend Quality Engineer (QE) with a strong background in testing backend systems and a passion for delivering high-quality client-server solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing tests for scalable, distributed systems in a modern microservices architecture. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement automated tests for RESTful APIs and backend components. Validate client-server interactions in a microservices-based environment. Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product teams to ensure test coverage and product quality. Work within Agile teams to define testing strategies and improve test automation frameworks. Identify, troubleshoot, and document software defects and inconsistencies. Contribute to CI/CD processes and integrate automated tests in the delivery pipelines. Promote best practices in QE processes, tools, and methodologies. Must-Have Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering with a focus on backend systems. Strong understanding of testing client-server solutions and backend architecture. Proven experience in testing RESTful APIs. Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI). Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Nice-to-Have Qualifications: 7+ years of total QE experience, with 4+ years in test automation using Java. Experience with TestContainers for integration testing. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB. Familiarity with Wiremock or similar tools for mocking external services. Knowledge of performance and load testing tools is a plus.
