Role description

Role Proficiency:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Java, API development, Kafka, and AWS to join our dynamic engineering team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power our critical business applications. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance backend services using Java. Develop and manage RESTful APIs and microservices to enable seamless integration across internal and external systems. Architect and implement event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka for real-time data processing. Utilize AWS services (such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.) to deploy, monitor, and optimize backend applications in the cloud. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including frontend engineers, DevOps, and product owners to deliver high-quality software. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, security issues, and improve system reliability. Participate in code reviews, mentorship, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team. Ensure best practices in code quality, testing (unit, integration), and continuous delivery pipelines. Keep up-to-date with emerging backend technologies and industry trends to drive innovation. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 6+ years of professional experience in backend software development. Strong proficiency in Java and solid understanding of object-oriented design principles. Extensive experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures. Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for messaging and stream processing. Proficient in cloud computing using AWS services including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus. Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and designing efficient data models. Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
