Role description

Role Proficiency:



Act under guidance of Lead II/Architect understands customer requirements and translate them into design of new DevOps (CI/CD) components. Capable of managing at least 1 Agile Team


Outcomes:



Interprets the DevOps Tool/feature/component design to develop/support the same in accordance with specifications

Adapts existing DevOps solutions and creates own DevOps solutions for new contexts

Codes debugs tests documents and communicates DevOps development stages/status of DevOps develop/support issues

Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing improving or reconfiguration of existing components

Optimises efficiency cost and quality of DevOps process tools and technology development

Validates results with user representatives; integrates and commissions the overall solution

Helps Engineers troubleshoot issues that are novel/complex and are not covered by SOPs

Design install configure troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and software

Able to automate infrastructure provisioning on cloud/in-premises with the guidance of architects

Provides guidance to DevOps Engineers so that they can support existing components

Work with diverse teams with Agile methodologies

Facilitate saving measures through automation

Mentors A1 and A2 resources

Involved in the Code Review of the team

Deliver components that automat parts to install components/configure of software/tools in on premises and on cloud

Deliver components that automate parts of the build/deploy for applications

Configure a CI/CD pipeline that can be used by application development/support teams

Develop/Support scripts (like Powershell/Shell/Python scripts) that automate installation/configuration/build/deployment tasks



Onboard users:



Onboard and extend existing tools to new app dev/support teams

Mentor and provide guidance to peers



Stakeholder Management:



Guide the team in preparing status updates
keeping management updated about the status




Training/SOPs :



Create Training plans/SOPs to help DevOps Engineers with DevOps activities and in onboarding users



Measure Process Efficiency/Effectiveness:



Measure and pay attention to efficiency/effectiveness of current process and make changes to make them more efficiently and effectively



Stakeholder Management:



Share the status report with higher stakeholder

Experience in the design installation configuration and troubleshooting of CI/CD pipelines and software using Jenkins/Bamboo/Ansible/Puppet /Chef/PowerShell /Docker/Kubernetes

Experience in Integrating with code quality/test analysis tools like Sonarqube/Cobertura/Clover

Experience in Integrating build/deploy pipelines with test automation tools like Selenium/Junit/NUnit

Experience in Scripting skills (Python/Linux/Shell/Perl/Groovy/PowerShell)

Use automation, observability, and industry best practices to enable new services and improve the maturity of existing services. - Identify and deliver software improvements using your expertise in software development, complexity analysis, and scalable system design. - Instrument world-class APM and observability platform that allows the entire engineering team to detect deviations in performance - Contribute to cloud architecture; design, development, and administration to ensure reliability and ease of use for our Application and Platform development teams. - Contribute to and create the defi nition of patterns, best practices, and strategies for continuous integration and deployment pipelines for various architectures for virtual machines, containers, and serverless infrastructure. - Focus on improving the developer experience using best-in-class tools to develop APIs for Infrastructure services. - Work with others to defi ne, evangelize, and maintain SRE (DevOps) best practices across product lines. - Cooperate with architects and product development teams to build reliable services - Provide automated and orchestrated management of all SaaS platforms and technical solutions to complex problems that require creativity and dedication. - Lead and contribute to AWS or GCP architecture, development, maintenance, automation, and orchestration for platform services. - Be able to deliver against several initiatives simultaneously with an agile mindset. - Have a strong eye for detail and quality of code. - Have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - On-Call Responsibility: Provide real-time incident response, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure system reliability by actively monitoring and resolving critical s. - Handle service requests, investigate operational issues, and collaborate with teams to maintain system stability and improve support workfl ows Required Skills: - The ideal candidate would have 7+ years of solid industry experience as a site reliability engineer - Good grip & understanding of designing Highly Available and scalable services - Expert-level experience developing in a Cloud environment (AWS, Azure, Google) - Advanced level of experience in shell scripting and development languages (Python, Golang, etc) - Advanced level of experience with container orchestration tools and practices (Kubernetes, etc) - Advanced level of experience with container infrastructure automation and orchestration tools (Terraform Kubernetes Provider, Helm, Ansible, Puppet, etc) - Identifying and leading opportunities to improve automation for the company; scoping and building automation for deployment, management, and visibility of our services - Experience in Observability/APM (Datadog, Newrelic, Splunk, and/or Promstack). - Experience in Networking in general and Cloud Network engineering, along with serverless architecture - Experience in DevOps practices and platform engineering for commercial applications. - Experience in server administration (Linux). The following experiences are not required, but you'll stand out from other applicants if you have any of the following, in our order of importance: - GCP/AWS Professional certifi cations (Architect, DevOps, Developer) will be an added advantage - Experience with cloud infrastructure automation such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar - Experience with ETL and data pipelines - You work on the command line confi dently and are familiar with all that the Linux toolkit can provide - You enjoy giving great feedback on code reviews and have deep knowledge of git - You have experience in public speaking events Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fi eld.
