Overview of the Role
The Accounting Control & Data QA Team is responsible for ensuring the integrity and validation of data held within the Aladdin Accounting Book of Record, which supports client valuation reporting and performance calculations. As Team Leader, you will act as the accounting subject matter expert within the Accounting Control function, overseeing the timely management and resolution of Quality Control (QC) checks as part of the data validation process. You will also be accountable for producing valuation reports and resolving queries arising from Accounting Control activities. In this role, you will handle complex QC checks and queries, while maintaining frequent communication with upstream operational teams and stakeholders to ensure the timely, accurate, and complete flow of information. Proactive relationship management with these internal partners is critical to the success of the role.
Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day activities and team members to ensure deadlines and quality standards are consistently met, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Oversee key Accounting Control tasks, including:
o Planning, prioritising, and managing quality control checks on the Aladdin Accounting platform using dashboards.
o Coordinating workflow across the Singapore, UK, and US teams, ensuring efficient handovers between regions.
o Providing oversight of the platform and upstream functions, ensuring adherence to SLAs for all Operations teams using Aladdin Accounting.
o Maintaining the integrity of the Aladdin Accounting dataset for standard (e.g., monthly) valuation reporting, delivered within agreed timeframes and quality expectations.
  • Ensure timely resolution of queries and effective implementation of business controls.
  • Drive consistency in processes and procedures globally.
  • Continuously review and improve operational systems and workflows, including identifying training needs and adopting new tools to automate and enhance efficiency.
  • Support compliance and audit processes, including risk documentation and reporting for escalation of risk events.
  • Assist in producing monthly MIS and KPI reports relevant to Accounting Control functions.
  • Escalate issues/concerns outside agreed service standards to the Onshore Oversight Team as required.
  • Lead the implementation of changes to processes and working practices to improve performance and reduce risk across teams and functions.
  • Build and foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise effectively with other operational areas and third parties as needed.
  • Proactively identify and implement effective solutions for escalated issues. Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Proficient in PC skills, including MS Excel and MS Word
  • Experience in Securities or Fund Management industry at a technical or lead level
  • Previous portfolio accounting experience required
  • Finance-related qualifications (e.g., IOC/IMC)
  • Acts as an expert mentor for Analysts and wider team
  • Strong ability to analyse and mitigate operational risk
  • Effective in delegating tasks and managing workload across the team
