The HR & IR Manager will be responsible for managing all human resources and industrial relations functions at the plant level. This role will focus on ensuring smooth HR operations, maintaining harmonious employee relations, handling statutory compliance, and driving people engagement initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Human Resources Management:
Manage end-to-end HR operations at the plant including manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, and attendance management.
Maintain accurate employee data, leave records, and ensure timely payroll inputs.
Implement HR policies, procedures, and practices as per corporate guidelines.
Drive employee engagement and communication initiatives to improve morale and retention.
Conduct training needs assessment and coordinate skill development programs for workers and staff.
2. Industrial Relations (IR):
Maintain harmonious industrial relations between management, employees, and unions.
Handle grievance redressal mechanisms effectively to avoid disruptions.
Liaise with labour unions and represent management in negotiations and discussions.
Monitor disciplinary procedures and ensure adherence to standing orders and company policies.
Manage contract labour engagement, ensuring compliance with labour laws and fair practices.
3. Statutory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws (Factories Act, ESI, PF, CLRA, etc.).
Coordinate statutory inspections and audits, and prepare relevant reports.
Maintain accurate documentation for labour authorities and ensure timely returns and submissions.
4. Plant Administration:
Oversee security, and housekeeping operations.
Ensure a safe, compliant, and productive work environment at the plant.
Support plant leadership in workforce planning and productivity improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
MBA / MSW / PGDHRM (preferred specialization in HR or IR).
Experience:
5+ years of experience in HR & IR, in a manufacturing plant setup.
Preferred Industry:
Foundry / Heavy Engineering / Manufacturing / Metals.
Languages:
English, Hindi, and Bengali
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Leadership ability with conflict resolution capability.
Hands-on experience in handling workforce discipline.
Proficient in MS Excel, HRIS tools, and data management.
