Position Role Type: Unspecified

In this role, the systems engineer will be responsible to perform end-to-end Systems engineering activities for various Avionics sensor products of Collins aerospace with the primary responsibility on the windshield wiper System. This includes but not limited to System requirements definition and management, requirements validation, system architecture design, modeling and simulation, system integration and verification and certification. Work with multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate the technical efforts towards realizing project goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position requires delivering System architecture Design, trade study, development and Integration of multidisciplinary products.
  • Proficiency and minimum 6 years work experience on ARP 4754 based Systems engineering product development process.
  • Perform various System engineering activities but not limited to requirements definition and management, requirements validation, system architecture design, modeling and simulation, system integration, verification and certification as part of systems engineering team and reports to engineering manager.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams including software, hardware, project and manufacturing teams to coordinate the technical efforts towards realizing project goals.
  • Systems engineering experience on various phases of product development lifecycle.
  • Proficient and/or ability to drive the various gate reviews such as CDR/PDR/TRL reviews.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to prepare successful product specifications, reports, schedules and other documents. to interact with OEM and customers.
  • Knowledge on ARP4761 based system safety assessment.
  • Participate and contribute towards innovation.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant industry experience with at least 6 years as a Systems Engineer in system requirements management, system verification and validation, system modelling on aerospace systems
  • Strong problem solving and analytical capability.
  • Work experience on ARP 4754, ARP-4761, DO-160 and familiarity with DO-254 and DO-178 Certification standards.
  • Experience in wide range of tools: DOORS, Polarion ALM, Teamcenter, CCS, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.
  • Ability to perform or lead design reviews, non-advocate reviews and project reviews
  • Working knowledge of Electromechanical, avionics sensors and control systems
  • Strong problem solving and analytical capability.
