We're looking for a
seasoned Engineering Lead
to lead our backend engineering teams in building scalable, resilient, and high-performance systems. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our technical direction, fostering a culture of excellence, and delivering mission-critical software that powers our business. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills--ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems while empowering teams to do their best work.
What You'll Do
Technical Leadership
Define and drive the technical roadmap for backend systems, aligning with business priorities.
Architect, review, and guide the development of distributed, microservices-based systems.
Champion engineering best practices in code quality, security, scalability, and performance.
Serve as a trusted advisor for technical decision-making across teams.
People & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and inspire backend engineers--fostering a culture of ownership, learning, and innovation.
Set clear growth paths, provide regular feedback, and run performance reviews.
Partner with Talent Acquisition to hire and retain top engineering talent.
Balance workloads across teams and ensure effective resource allocation.
Execution & Delivery
Translate product and business requirements into actionable technical roadmaps.
Oversee the delivery of high-quality releases on time and at scale.
Identify risks early, remove blockers, and ensure projects run smoothly.
Continuously refine engineering processes for speed, agility, and reliability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps to ship seamless customer experiences.
Act as the bridge between engineering and business stakeholders, communicating trade-offs and progress transparently.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Stay ahead of trends in backend engineering, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
Encourage experimentation, run PoCs, and introduce modern tools and frameworks.
Drive initiatives to improve developer productivity, automation, and platform reliability.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Technical Depth
10-15 years of backend engineering experience, including hands-on work with
Java
and
Spring (Boot, Data, Security, MVC)
.
Proven expertise in
microservices
,
REST APIs
, and
enterprise application design
.
Strong background in performance tuning, scalability, and security of backend systems.
Skilled in CI/CD, build tools (Maven/Gradle), and version control (Git).
Exposure to
cloud platforms
(AWS, GCP, Azure) and database technologies (SQL & NoSQL).
Leadership & Management
At least 4+ years in a
people management role
, leading teams of 10+ engineers.
Demonstrated ability to grow teams, mentor engineers, and build high-performing cultures.
Strong track record of delivering complex, large-scale projects end-to-end.
Excellent communication skills--able to influence, inspire, and align stakeholders at all levels.
