We are looking for Lead Engineer Train IT Network & T2G
You'll make a difference by
As a Train IT Network and Train to Ground (T2G) Lead Design Engineer for Rolling Stock, you will play a pivotal role in the design and integration of advanced communication and data transfer systems within our state-of-the-art passenger coaches rail vehicles. You will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of the onboard Ethernet networks and the T2G solutions, ensuring seamless and reliable connectivity between components on the trains and the communication of train components with the ground infrastructure and services. This position requires a deep understanding of railway systems, computer networks, communication protocols, and robust engineering principles to deliver innovative and high-performance solutions that meet stringent industry standards and customer requirements.

• Lead the technical design of train networks and T2G communication systems for passenger coaches rolling stock projects, from concept to commissioning.
• Define and optimize the architecture for on-board Ethernet networks and train-to-ground communication, including wireless technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi, 4G/5G), data acquisition, and onboard/offboard interfaces.
• Translate customer and system requirements into detailed technical specifications for on-board Ethernet networks and T2G components and functionalities.
• Perform detailed design activities, including network architecture and design, component selection, system configuration and system integration planning.
• Oversee the integration of on-board Ethernet networks and T2G systems into rolling stock platforms, ensuring compatibility with other onboard systems (e.g., TCMS, PIS, CCTV). Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for validation and verification.
• Ensure the T2G solutions meet performance, reliability, and cybersecurity in accordance with applicable railway standards (e.g., EN 61375 series, EN 50716, TS 50701, IEC 62443 series).
• Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., software, hardware, mechanical, project management, sales) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, customers, certification bodies).
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, interface control documents, and user manuals.
• Provide expert technical support during commissioning, warranty, and operational phases, resolving complex issues related to on-board Ethernet networks and T2G systems.

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in railway signaling, rolling stock, or a related field.
• You have professional experience with Ethernet/IP-based network design preferred for rolling stock vehicles and including T2G communication technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi, LTE/5G, satellite communication).
• Familiarity with related railway standards and regulations (e.g., EN 61375 series, EN 50716, TS 50701, IEC 62443 series).
• You have knowledge of transmission technologies (antennas, clients, access points).
• You can perform the necessary bandwidth analysis based on the architecture and requirements you have created.
• You have knowledge of Linux operating systems and related networking functionality
• You have knowledge regarding network configuration in local networks
• You have good knowledge regarding IT-security
• You know protocols used in on-board communication such as ReST/HTTP(s), SIP/VoIP, RTSP, ONVIF/RTP, STUN, SSL/TLS, UDP/TCP, VPN (OpenVPN, IPsec, Wire Guard).
• You can accompany/carry out requirements analysis and process technical documentation using tools such as Polarion, Magic Draw, MS-Office toolchain
• Collaboration with global teams.
• Travel may be required (15-20%) depending upon requirement.
• Good knowledge of SW and network system architecture and wide-ranging knowledge of HW and SW system integration
• Intercultural experiences in working together in a team and different time zones
