The companys technology hub, the Inspire Global Innovation Center in Hyderabad, India, will lead technology innovation and product development for the organization and its portfolio of distinct brands. The Inspire Global Innovation Center will focus on developing new capabilities in data science, data analytics, eCommerce, automation, cloud computing, and information security to accelerate the companys business strategy. Inspire Global Innovation Center will also host an innovation lab and collaborate with start-ups to develop solutions for productivity optimization, workforce management, loyalty management, payments systems, and more.



POS Lead engineer responsible for configuring and managing POS components such as menu items, item exceptions, promotions, discounts, coupons, printers, order devices and custom configurations while serving as a liaison between various internal teams, and POS resellers. This person will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of corporate and/or franchise restaurant Point of Sale Software, which will ensure high levels of systems availability and customer satisfaction, while optimizing usage of hardware and software resources. As a Lead Engineer, you will need to produce and implement functional software solutions. You will work with senior management to define PoS software requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects. In this role, you should be able to work with minimal supervision. Your goal will be to develop high-quality software that is aligned with customer needs and business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build, manage, support and maintain menu item databases, coupons, discounts, promotions, printers, order devices and approved custom configurations.
  • Develop and execute processes for database maintenance problem resolution and escalation support for Restaurant Technology and underlying infrastructures while creating and maintaining documentation for said processes.
  • Review the performance of the PoS used and upgrade it as and when required.
  • Partner with key departments outside of IT, such as Operations and Marketing to define, establish and implement best practices and procedures for POS, Mobile Ordering, and Loyalty platforms (e.g.; database management, integration analysis and platform support).
  • Remain current on new technologies and available PoS packages, evaluate and make recommendations as necessary
  • Assist in task planning, estimation, scheduling and staffing
  • Mentor junior and senior engineers

  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for issues within Restaurant Technology; including hardware, software, and network infrastructures.
  • Performs quality assurance (QA) processes to ensure superior systems are deployed into the production environment.
  • Develop and provide documentation and training processes to enhance the skill level of internal Technical Support IT/Service Desk Staff.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:
  • Required Minimum: College degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:
  • Required Minimum: 3+ years of experience in database design / administration of Point of Sale Systems.
  • Required Minimum: 2+ years as a proven people manager
  • Required: 5+ years of experience in implementation / deployment of at least one Inspire Brands POS Platform - PAR Brink, Oracle Simphony, Oracle Res, NCR Aloha and Infor.
Preferred:
  • 5+ years of experience in systems design, integration, and implementation/deployment of infrastructure and supporting software applications.
  • 3+ years Restaurant (QSR/TSR) environment experience
