Summary A challenging opportunity in a multi-disciplinary global team! As lead engineer \'Piping and Valves\' you will execute the engineering of plant piping, valves, piping specialties, silencers, strainers, insulation, and electrical heat tracing. You are responsible for the specification of these components, for conducting supplier inquiry meetings, analyzing technical tenders, following up supplier\'s design and fabrication, executing supplier assessments, reviewing and commenting drawings, managing all internal and external interfaces, assessing material order quantities and supporting site technical queries. You will manage your scope from handover from Tendering until project handover to the customer. Roles and Responsibilities After project kick-off, review customer contract, along with scope and budget Review and comment the time schedule at project start and remain committed to agreed time schedule throughout the project Regularly review spent vs budgeted hours related to assigned engineering scope Issue concept documents, such as general specifications for piping, valves, insulation, and site hydrostatic testing Select and specify different valve types (including actuators) and other inline components, as required to meet system requirements Issue specifications for different valve types and piping specialties, such as orifices, expansion joints, filters, strainers, sight glasses, safety valves and respective silencers Provide input for the detail design of insulation systems and issue the respective specification. Select insulation material and provide insulation thickness calculation. Provide input for the design of electrical heat tracing systems and issue the respective specification. Design pipe classes and issue specifications for piping bulk material and prefabrication Manage equipment packages (write technical specifications, analyze tenders, conduct supplier meetings, review/comment drawings and documents, manage changes, execute supplier and product qualifications, contribute to final acceptance inspections) Manage MTO\'s (material take-offs) and order lists for pipes, valves, supports, bolting, gaskets, etc., along with MTO revisioning and order amendments Contribute to design reviews for critical scope, such as creep exposed piping, GRP cooling water piping, high pressure valves, steam safety valves, etc. Provide input for BOQ\'s for site erection and temporary material for site hydrostatic testing and system cleaning Ensure on time delivery of project deliverables along with meeting quality requirements Manage engineering database (Aveva) and ensure timely and correct data handling Issue engineering lists for piping, valves, specialties Coordinate technical matters between disciplines Required Qualifications BSc or MSc in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, or equivalent) More than 5 years\' experience in mechanical engineering of power plants according to internal codes and standards (ASME B31.1, B16.34, EN 13480, EN 12516, etc.) Experienced with executing complex EPC projects in an international project environment Experienced with selection criteria for materials, which are used in power plants - especially CSEF steels. Deep know-how of pipe, fitting and flange design according to ASME and EN standards, such as pipe wall thickness calculations, fitting reinforcements, flange strength Know how in MTO handling and management of changes. Desired Characteristics Expertise in plant arrangement planning or piping detail design and stress analysis Experienced with PED requirements related to piping and valves Experience with plastics (GRP, HDPE, ABS) Ownership & accountability. Ability to take decisions. Solution oriented style of working.
