In this role, this person will be part of Mechanical Analysis section at Bangalore Engineering Centre and will own the complete analysis deliverables associated with Rotor & Structural parts for various GEnx, Catalyst, GE90/GP commercial product lines. This person will also be responsible for the coordination and working closely with Life cycle Engineering/ Design/ Systems/ Life management teams. Activities aimed to validate the concepts through analysis using finite element methods. The role has ownership of Analysis deliverables along with a strong focus on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard practices. Role Overview:
Lead the Finite Element Analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and analysis tools/methods adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering analysis on components of GEnx, Catalyst, GE90/GP engine product lines.
Utilize in-depth knowledge of engineering & analysis experience to execute on technically complex projects to meet analysis requirements and business goals with minimal oversight.
Lead & own projects/tasks to solve problems of medium to large complexity through collaboration.
Use engineering judgement and experience to improve the state of art and the Mechanical Analysis process improvements.
Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements.
Support formulation and implementation of plans to achieve technical requirements, schedule.
Should network & establish strong connections with Commodity Controlled Title Holders (CTHs, Cross functions teams to achieve the desired outcomes).
Participate and Lead the organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks.
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externally.
Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions.
Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.
Support other personnel and assigned teams.
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments.
Required Qualifications:
PhD / MTech / MS / BE from an accredited university or college in Mechanical, Aerospace, or closely related field of Engineering.
4+ years of experience in a relevant engineering role with mechanical design and analysis of gas turbine components.
In-depth understanding of mechanical design fundamentals.
In-depth understanding & use of Finite Element Methods tools.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Demonstrated Project Management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep understanding of advanced modeling and finite element analysis tools like NX, ANSYS, Hypermesh.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Product knowledge about Aircraft engines or Gas turbine
Prior experience of solving problems through design trade studies and optimization
Awareness of Lean/Six-sigma methodologies
