Serve as a subject matter expert on electric drive unit design, components (motor, inverter, gearbox), controls, and integration within EV platforms.
Issue Resolution:
Lead the investigation, analysis, and resolution of complex technical issues related to electric drive unit performance, reliability, and durability. This includes on-vehicle issues and concerns arising from testing or customer feedback.
Root Cause Analysis:
Conduct thorough root cause analysis using a variety of methods (fault tree analysis, fishbone diagrams, etc.) to identify the underlying causes of drive unit failures or performance degradation.
Solution Development:
Develop and implement effective and robust solutions to address identified issues. This may involve design changes, software updates, process improvements, or component modifications.
Design Optimization:
Identify opportunities to optimize drive unit design for improved performance, efficiency, cost, and manufacturability.
Testing and Validation:
Plan, execute, and analyze testing to validate design changes, verify issue resolution, and ensure drive unit performance meets specifications.
Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, quality, and service, to resolve issues and implement improvements.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement in drive unit design, development processes, and issue resolution methodologies.
Experience
+ 5+ years of experience in the design, development, or testing of electric drive units for electric vehicles.
+ Proven experience in issue resolution, root cause analysis, and implementation of effective solutions.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
General Requirements
+ Strong understanding of electric motor design, inverter technology, gearbox design, hybrid systems
+ Experience in working of 3in1, 4in1, rear axle mounted electric drive units.
+ Proficiency in using simulation software for motor like Motorcad, Maxwell, JMAG
+ Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols (e.g., CAN) and data acquisition systems.
+ Experience with testing and validation of electric drive units.
+ Knowledge of manufacturing processes for electric drive unit components.
+ Should be familiar with CAD software like UGNX, Catia V and 3D experience.
+ Handling DFMEA sessions with all relevant stake holders
