Radisys, now part of Reliance Industries Ltd., is a technology transformation company working on some of the most advanced telecommunication technologies like Edge-Cloud, Software Defined Access Technologies, 5G, IOT and so on. As part of its new chapter under Reliance, Radisys is on a mission to create world class networking and communication products. This position is for one of such new product initiatives that is going to be developed out of Radisys Bengaluru R&D center and deployed across large telecom operator networks across the world.

Role:

We are looking for Application Framework development experts for an AOSP based laptop product (Android) that will be used across Reliance product portfolios. The work involves developing new platform capabilities, enhancing, customizing existing capabilities and fine tuning, rearchitecting them for scalability, power & performance, adaptability across various HW configurations, Testability & OS Upgradability.

Android Framework

Experience

• 4 years+ up to a max of 8 years

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build advanced Middle-ware solution for Android platform and Framework

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance

• Discover, evaluate, and implement recent technologies to maximize development efficiency

Domain Skills Requirement:

• Deeply experienced in Java and object-oriented programming including design patterns

• Android native Framework and Native development and customizations

• Must have worked on Android framework customization extensively

• Experience Modifying Framework Services: Activity Manager/Window Manager/View Framework & Window Decor View, IMF etc.

• Experience with customizing System UI - status bar, Lock-screen, Navigation bar/Notifications

• Understanding Android Boot/shutdown Sequence & various Framework module Architecture

• Proficient in multithreading & middle ware solutions development in Android environment

• Strong fundamentals of Android IPC & OS concepts

• Android CTS/VTS debugging & issue fixing

• Knowledge of RxJava, Retrofit, Data binding, Kotlin, Dagger2 & other Android Advance Libraries.

• Masters / Bachelor primarily in CS but if you have exceptional experience there is no bar on discipline of Engineering

Android Apps:

Experience

Key Responsibilities

• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Java/Kotlin code
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance

Domain Skills Requirement:

• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Should have experience working on any of the System/AOSP Apps like Settings, Call, Messaging, Gallery, Music, Camera, etc.
• Should have knowledge of making builds for AOSP Code base and AOSP Applications using Linux commands
• Android based product development should possess sound programming knowledge in Core Java for Android product development
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Should have sound experience in object-oriented design and OOPS concepts.
• Good understanding of Android components like Android IPC (Intent, JNI, AIDL, HIDL, Binder, Messenger & Handler), Activity, Services, Broadcast receivers & Content providers is must to have.
• Should have sound experience in discussing the requirements and concluding the UI/UX of applications
• Strong OO design and program skills in Java.
• Proficient in debugging on Android device
• Proficient in development tools such as git, Jenkins etc.
