Job Description


The Lead Engineerwill play a crucial role in overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of both front-end and back-end components to enhance the customer experience. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive integration and functionality, aligning the entire stack with business objectives and user needs. The developer will also identify opportunities for improving the performance and scalability of applications in a fast-paced, global fashion retail environment.As a Lead Engineer / Developer, you will:

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of both front-end and back-end components for complex multi-channel customer experience projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive integration and functionality across the stack.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Support project timelines by identifying and mitigating risks and resolving technical bottlenecks.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for performance optimization and efficiency across the entire application.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform architectural and design decisions, demonstrating the impact of full-stack development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, agility, and innovation.
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APARTMust-Have Experience & skills:
  • Experience working with any Marketing Technology platforms like Salesforce, SAP, Klaviyo, Google Marketing Platform, etc. Klaviyo is most preferred.
  • Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with any E-commerce platforms such as SAP Hybris, SAP Commerce Cloud, Magento, Adobe Commerce Cloud etc

Education:
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, Marketing Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist) are a plus.
Nice to Have skills:
  • Experience in the retail industry, particularly within a global context.
  • Proven track record of collaborating cross-functional technology teams in front-end development or customer experience projects.
  • Experience in analysing and mapping customer journeys, and familiarity with digital marketing tools.
  • Proficiency in both front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Vue.js) and back-end technologies (Java, Python, Node.js, Ruby, SQL, NoSQL)
  • Experience with RESTful API design and development
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like JIRA, Jenkins, Travis CI, or CircleCI
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git
