About the Role
We are hiring a
Lead Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Design Engineer
to join a global engineering team working on
industrial water and process systems
.
This role is a
senior individual contributor position
, responsible for executing end-to-end
electrical, instrumentation, and automation design activities
, including
control panel design, PLC & HMI programming, instrumentation selection, and system testing
. The role also carries responsibility for
quality, timelines, and cost control
of assigned engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop
electrical control panels
, wiring schematics, and system layouts
Perform
detailed electrical design calculations
and prepare wiring drawings
PLC programming and program modifications
Develop and modify
HMI applications
Select electrical and instrumentation components for control panels
Execute
testing, commissioning, and validation
of control panels and systems
Support
prototype development
, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives (CI / VAVE)
Prepare
Bill of Materials (BOMs)
for control panels
Ensure
on-time delivery
with adherence to quality and technical standards
Maintain and improve existing product designs
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in
Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering
6-8 years of experience in
Electrical & Instrumentation design
Strong hands-on experience in
PLC and HMI programming
Experience with
control panel design
, testing, and commissioning
Good understanding of:
Electrical switchgear
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Protection systems for control panels
Knowledge of instrumentation selection:
Flow, pressure, and analytical instruments
Experience preparing
system load calculations
, wiring drawings, and connection details
Proficiency in
E-Plan, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or SolidWorks
Hands-on experience in
electrical design calculations
Knowledge of
global electrical safety standards
and support for agency certifications
Ability to execute tasks independently with
high-quality deliverables
Nice to Have
Experience in
technical documentation / technical writing
Exposure to working in a
global engineering environment
Prior experience in
industrial water or process industries
