Role Definition
Participates in defining functional design, development and architecture for Caterpillar's state-of-the-art digital platform aligning to common department goals in line with CAT Digital Strategy. Lead Digital Architect will help design & deploy a world class integration platform facilitating information exchange across various digital applications within and outside Caterpillar ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
Provide oversight for architecture assessment and design for infrastructure, information or integration domains that provide core capabilities for the enterprise.
Lead Architecture design of end-to-end enterprise integrations that serves multiple business functions.
Lead the design and implementation of integration standards supporting complex projects.
Drive architecture and design patterns for various Enterprise Integration scenarios and services.
Design & implement the scalable and secured data share integrations
Design & implement the automated workflows within, across, and outside the software ecosystems
Identify and implement the right Integration services for right use case
Participate in defining the integration security guardrails per Enterprise standards
Lead the Design of a scalable & secure Data share integrations based on the specific application demand
Guide the Operations team in their Observability & SRE strategies
Stay up to date with the latest developments & new features in the Azure Integration services area, evaluate new developments and technologies for potential integration into existing and future architecture.
Initiate and deliver technology evaluation and recommendations
Develop and maintain current, planned, and future state architecture blueprints. Lead in the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers and requirements that drive the future state architecture.
Skills:
Analytical Thinking:
Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of complex technical problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Effective Communications:
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Integration Architecture:
Hands on experience of technologies & patterns that help design & develop scalable and secure data share integrations architecture; ability to design blueprints on how to introduce new capabilities.
Target Architecture:
Knowledge of target architecture; ability to develop the IT blueprint and roadmap while aligning the architecture and processes with business strategies and objectives.
Requirements Analysis:
Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
Top Candidates will have:
Four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a Computer Science or Information Technology, or related field with 12+ years of experience
At least 5 years' architecture experience as Integrations Architect with strong demonstrable experience in the data share integration patterns
Must have demonstrable experience of designing, developing & deploying highly complex distributed systems in Azure cloud & hybrid cloud environments
Extensive hands on experience in the following areas
Azure cloud solution architecture, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, DataVerse, Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Event Grid, Event Hub, Service Bus
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
Agile SDLC implementation in public cloud eco-system including environments management, peer review, CI/CD, resource optimization, etc.
